What travellers are saying
- soph_ydgBracknell, UK275 contributionsWe visited on 3 occasions over our week trip to California.
Our first visit was on 1/10 to Oogie Boogie Bash. We entered the park at 3pm to make good use of some time before the party starts to get on some rides and have some photos taken. Once it hit 6pm we explored the character trails - with high hopes we actually felt disappointed - the best trail was for Oogie Boogie and Dr Doofenschmirtz, these characters were very engaging and took the time to make an effort. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Sid and Ernest de la cruz.
The parade was good but very short and rushed. CM's handing out candy too busy talking to each other to interact with guests. Compared to Mickeys not so scary there was not as much candy handed out.
We were impressed with Disneyland however noted very long lines - for everything - drinks, popcorn, food, toilets and rides. Even the Genie+ queues were very long. In some parts of the park you felt sardined walking shoulder to shoulder with other guests.
We spent one more day at DCA and the queues were better - but it is noticed for rides the majority is genie+ and then one family from standby queue. We did not bother with Genie+ as some of the queues looked bigger for this than stand by
Disappointed no fireworks at either park during our visit.
Overall a very nice parkWritten 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - K CHouston40 contributionsDCA was an awesome park. We did a 1 day with park hopper and started here. We did rope drop and headed straight to Cars Land and Radiator Springs. By the time we got to the line it said 85 minutes but when I asked I was advised to go now. It took about 30 minutes! The ride did have an issue right before we got on and it was delayed 5 minutes but other than that it was great.
We had the lightning lane multi pass so I booked web slinger while waiting for Cars. We loved web slingers and booked Monster’s Inc using our LLMP. On our way to Monster’s Inc we went on to Pym’s test kitchen for the quantum pretzel and a delicious proton punch. Our reservation was ready for Monster’s so we went there and then off the Animation Academy and learned to draw Ursula!
Disneyland
Now it is time for us to park hop so we used a LLMP to book Smuggler’s run but had to wait an hour. And this is when the lightning lanes were few and far between or just hours later. We booked Mickey and Minnie’s railroad adventure and then headed to the room for a break and to get food to our room. Right before we left we booked Soarin and the Cars individual Lightning Lane. Compared to DCA, Disneyland was overcrowded.
Evening return
We came back for Soarin early and checked out the children’s play area which was fun. We did Soarin and headed to Cars for our reservation and were so thankful because the line for stand by was 185 minutes. Our day was done!
Would I recommend two days, yes! Would I do a park hopper at least one day, yes! Would I do LLMP, yes, but it is only worth it in the morning until about 1 pm. By the time we came back around 4, there were only about 2 rides that offered any lightning lanes and the park was not closing early for Oogie Boogie night.Written 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not pet friendly but there is patio seating.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Chloe ThomasOrlando, FL1,602 contributionsThe Downtown Disney District is conveniently located next to both of the parks, making it easy to drop in for a meal or some shopping. As an Orlando local, I avoid Disney Springs at all costs. But this was cute! Tons of restaurants and shops.Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ty L1 contributionIt was a great stadium to visit.Espechilly for a family day at the ballpark. The only thing I have to say is that the stadium's seats are kind of worn out.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vacation_CommanderMuncie, IN1,213 contributionsThis is by far the best ride at Disney's California Adventure.
The way it's themed and designed makes you really feel like you're in the movie. I love that you can have two different experiences depending on which direction the car takes you.
I recommend using the single-rider line if you don't mind not riding with your family. You get to stand in line with them and you will wait only a third of the time.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Tiberiu_BaranyiTimisoara, Romania17,719 contributionsIn April 2024 - I've attended IPC APEX 2024 that was hosted this year - and will be for next few years - by the Anaheim Convention center.
The building of the convention center is huge - by any standard - is one of the biggest I've seen in the past years - while participating to different events in the US.
Around the place - should you like in the campus - there are plenty of hotel choices - some of those literarily just 5-10 min walking distance from the spot.
The building is a steel and glass kind of construction, functional with thousands of rooms - bigger or smaller - and can host several events in parallel.
Lighting , aircon and sound system in the meeting rooms is also very good .
Escalators always working - although I was taking the stairs typically - however in terms of accessibility it is no problem.
In terms of restaurants - in the area around the convention you've got options - and based on what I saw over the week I've spent there - for lunch there are typically food trucks , either in front of the convention center either near Anaheim arena- closer to the Katella Ave.
Overall a very good venue - should you plan to attend an event there and you have doubts , don't have any the place is definitely up to hosting any kind of conventions, trade show, etc.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vacation_CommanderMuncie, IN1,213 contributionsI wasn't sure how this would be since we love the Tower of Terror so much, but our love of the Guardians of the Galaxy made it amazing. Lots of humor and action that you would expect from the movies as well as some fun Disney magic to make the ride more enjoyable.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kaye NProvo, UT2,147 contributionsWhat a wonderful natural treasure in a busy metropolitan area! Our family had been at Disneyland the day before and we needed a down day. This park was perfect for our group. The grandkids played on the playgrounds and most of the adults walked the trails and enjoyed the birds on the lake. We were there too late to rent the swan paddle boats - rentals closed at 3 p.m. (Maybe stay open longer for afternoon visitors.)
The entrance fee was reasonable for our group $3 per car (for 12 people). There were restrooms and sink stations available. Beware the squirrels though! They are not afraid of humans and will come right up to you! We are glad we found this nice place to relax.Written 5 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Cliodhna1980Dublin, Ireland13 contributionsThis place if you have kids from say 1 to 12 is the best, its only 26 bucks in, there are unlimited rides, no queues, its clean well run and not a rip off. We brought our 1 and a half year old and she absolutely loved it. We spent about 2 and half hours there, there are plenty of places to take shade and sit down, park the buggy and toilets etc. we thought it was a perfect size for kids, you can let them loose as it’s not a big area, and then there are 2 roller coasters and a drop ride for the Tweenies, we went on the rollercoaster (minus the baby) and it was really good. There is also a small animal petting area where the kids can brush goats and a pig and there are chickens. Also there is free parking. We liked this place so much we went twice in the same week. Cannot fault it 10/10.Written 27 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
