Finding the location is part of the hunt, too... they are back in a business park, but just a few blocks from Galleria Shopping Center at LBJ & Tollway.
The library and museum (and conference center and school and pond and grave site and flower garden) is definitely worth a visit.
The gift center was an added bonus.

A lovely and pristine, beautifully landscaped visitor's center with ample parking that is well-stocked with information covering all regions in TX in multiple languages and staff that are eager to share insights.

The Harry Ransom Center on the University of Texas campus in Austin, TX, is full of amazing treasures, some of which are certain to delight even mildly curious people of every age.
Housed in a beautiful historic building, the visitors center has the usual pamphlets about the capitol, Austin, and other Texas attractions and maps.
Great resources for the kids and adults alike and a great gift shop with a very helpful staff.

It was raining so we took a tip from the visitor's center across the street and stopped by the library for the free exhibits on the 4th floor that document much of the local history.
The ladies at the visitors center recommended the short walk across the street to visit the free museum on the 4th floor.
Loved that the convention center was in the SA Riverwalk area which made it very easy to mix business with pleasure.

The Center was a comfortable place in which to wait with plenty of seating, large screen informative slides of local attractions and a well stocked gift shop.
Located west of the I-35 on the corner of East 4th Street (one way westbound) and Red River Street (with open lot parking across the street) the AUSTIN VISITOR CENTER is the ideal place to organize your city tours.
Situated directly opposite the Alamo complex, make sure that you schedule any early visit to the Center so that you can most sensibly organise your time in the City.
The San Antonio Visitor's Center is conveniently located right across the street from the Alamo toward the river.
The center has a short movie that gives you a great overview of early Texas history and explains why Steve Austin is considered the Father of Texas.

The new convention center has ample parking, great acoustics, and comfortable seating in its main theater hall.
Driving up the main driveway gives one an excellent view of the Center with it water fountains and pond.

What an incredible place the Convention Center is with it's spectacular view of the the Gulf and it's amazing people.
You can park for just a short while in front of the Center, walk up the steps and look for the circular information desk, this is where you can grab all the info you will need for your trip.
Just off the circle from the convention center are two boardwalks that take you over marshes and out to the bay to see wildlife and birds.
Always have to go to the visitors center to find out what to do on the island.

Great historic location in downtown Boerne across from town center.
Highly recommend watching the video at the visitor center before going on the 1.5 hour tour as it puts into context the significance of this historic ranch.
