Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Tourist538393599671 contributionMy daughter and I love going to Times Square Grand Slam!! It is the perfect place to take the family for a fun night out full of entertainment!! Times Square has something for everyone in the family we love going here for movies, we like to go early, get some dinner at the Infield and play some arcade games before going to enjoy our movie. This is also our favorite place in Tyler to go bowling they have some of the best lanes in town!!Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - telvin1Sedalia, MO62 contributionsLooking for something to do with young kids primetime is the place to be. My only complaint was employees where hard to find. But the fun was there so I would go back.Written 9 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- singaferGeorgetown, TX51 contributionsAll good things at Mel's. Friendly staff. Separate lanes area for "adulting" AKA bar and food service, which is a nice feature. They host the Special Olympics bowling competition, and they do a great job.Written 5 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wesseler1 contributionI had the unexpected pleasure of taking my grandson to a birthday party at the Main Event - my first experience at this facility. The kids had a great time and it appeared to be well organized considering the number of parties taking place and the huge crowd.Written 6 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dolllover425 contributionsWe always enjoy our visits to Spare Time, there are activities for kids of all ages, prices are reasonable and they offer several specials through out the day.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sivan MDallas, TX487 contributionsMain event has many popular games and fun activities for the group. There’s also a lot of kids there so if you if you want a more adult location dave and busters is the way to go. Most events are cheaper before 5pm, so make sure to get your reservations right before then. The bowling is fun but I would skip on the food unless you want very basic meals.Written 16 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kendra PFort Myers, FL49 contributionsYou pay a lot for everything here. Pool table is $15/hr to rent, everything is a la carte and it will add up quickly. bowling shoes $5 to rent. Facility needs to be larger. Service was very good. If you get a Groupon, bowl first as it fills up and we didn't get to do it. Also Sat. pass ends at 3 pm but later if you go another day of the week. As a parent I wasn't thrilled but kids enjoyed it. I do recommend the monthly magic show with Magic Mike as he is talented and original.Written 22 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris KBakersfield, CA83 contributionsThis was my first time visiting the Main Event. I was fortunate that it was a company sponsored event so I do not know the cost of entertainment at this facility. We were given a play card when we arrived and I was able to enjoy some old and new video games. I did not bowl, but it looked like a very nice set up for those that did bowl. This place seemed to have something for everyone.Written 10 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tarajean424Colleyville, TX407 contributionsMain Event Grapevine is usually a place that I would recommend, but not after this last visit. My mom, brother and I went on a Saturday to do bowling. When we arrived, we were told that we could either wait 20-30 mins for a lane to open up or we could pay an additional $8 to pay for the "VIP lane." It is really nothing special other than being the furthest lanes to bowl. We had brought some of our own balls to use for bowling, and they kept getting stuck in the ball return-they were about the same size as the ones that they have there, and so we had to get an attendant over. They claimed that they would add time to our bowling game, but I don't think that they did. The bowling lanes were very run down-our lane did not work properly when resetting the pins-it would always knock one over every time. The bathroom was also dirty and not cleaned well. It was certainly not worth $60 that we paid for the bowling-which was almost $50 alone just to bowl-plus shoe rental of $5 each. Would not recommend to bowl here-I think you can make reservations online, but hopefully they decrease their prices and update and fix their equipment. I wish that we had fought to get some kind of our money back for this experience. The VIP lane did nothing-it is nothing special other than being secluded from the other bowling lanes at the end.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GuillaumeleconqueranMontreal, Canada697 contributionsIt took us almost two hours to get a bowling lane (it was kids March break). The staff is very friendly. The place very clean. Ample parking space. Food is OK at the pizza spot.

- Harold P2 contributionsThis establishment has been closed since Covid-19 began. Not sure if it will ever reopen.
