Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We try to visit the MOMA on every visit to NYC. We love the ever changing art displays, dining at the cafe, the coat room organization and of course people watching.

About an hour on the subway from lower Manhattan but absolutely worth it. The Cloisters was built in the 1930s but it's like stepping back several centuries. Doorways, windows and columns from medieval buildings have been incorporated into the building so sensitively so you really believe you are entering a 15th century church or a 16th century cloister. The collection includes altarpieces, devotional statues, sculptures of saints and many other treasures. The $30 entry fee also covers entry to the main Met gallery on the same day but they are several miles apart and each place demands a few hours to do it justice - I spent three and a half hours wandering round the Cloisters at a fairly leisurely pace. You could do it in less time but you may as well enjoy the lovely atmosphere for as long as possible! I went on a Monday and it wasn't very busy. The website advises going to 190th St but I went to Dyckman Street station for getting back downtown afterwards and that felt a little closer once I had found my way out of the park to the main road. From 190th St it is very straightforward - just head from the bottom tip of Fort Tryon Park to the top. It is up an incline and there are some steps but it's a nice walk with wonderful views over the river, and doesn't take too long.

This is an amazing collection, three magnificent Vermeer's kick off the visit, intimately displayed in room of their own. You can visit the whole museum in 1-2 hours, so you don't get overfed with art. I actually enjoyed this more than the big ones.

The museum is quite large geographically but for us it was easy to visit all the accessible spaces in just over two hours. When we were there, there were huge inaccessible areas being prepared for exhibitions... impressed most by the Asian collection, European collection closed, American collection quite limited, Modern nearly nonexistent. A potential visitor should probably check out the Exhibits schedule before deciding to go. Nevertheless, for us, the Brooklyn was worth the time to visit just to see Judy Chicago's Dinner Party. Exceptionally important piece that is so very very impressive. Don't miss the Kehinde Wiley painting and Rodin sculptures in the side hallways of the entrance atrium.

One of my favorite spots in the US. Food for your soul. Calm and peace and inspiration. Definitely worth 3-4 hours (and then the family wanted Woodburry Commons outlet... Guess that's business, a few hours for me a few for them).

Very easy wayfinding and fun art in the elevators! We started out, as we often do, on the top floor of a museum. Here it's the seventh and beyond the interesting art inside there's a great terrace view of the city with several interesting sculptures to see. The hit of our visit was the large Edward Hopper (one of our favorites) selection from the permanent collection on view. Wonderful museum that offers something new every time we visit.

This museum is strictly modern art. If you prefer traditional art, it's not for you. But modern art lovers will enjoy a visit.

Amazing art from the area and mostly late 1700s-mid 1800s and a rotating installation of more current artists, illustrators on the upstairs floors. native American presentation on the lower floors.

Worth a stop in the cafeteria! The lamb meatballs in a tomato sauce are amazing and the espresso drinks are nice and strong.

In terms of the art, the museum is not too large so it is possible to enjoy it pretty comprehensively in 2/or two and a half hours. Get a guided to her if one is available. If you're a NARM member at a different Museum you will get reciprocal free admission.

Gorgeous furnishings, outstanding art and jewelry in a well organized and logical progression of art. Elevator snd disability enabled snd having a lovely book store and restaurant make it a great outing. Members enjoy longer viewing rights and it is convenient to all public transportation.

Really cool, the Tiffany lamps are awesome, worth the price of admission themselves. Plenty of intriguing things to look at here.

The gentleman that gave my wife and me two different tours was engaging, informative without overloading us, and yet brought out many interesting points. He really seemed that he had a mission to bring to life the many gems at the Hyde. And he did.

It has been quite a long hiatus since my last visit, and today on a nice Fall afternoon I decided to come back.
To my surprise they were having a Native American Festival, Haudenosaunee Heritage Celebration Day.
Exhibits of tapestry, patterns, using of skins for warmth(shoe making), arrows, etc. a Dance demonstration also took place with warriors and ladies in their respective tribes attires.
    Very entertaining, and educational.

Had a fantastic time doing one of the nighttime Spirits of the Past walks! First time visiting the Genesee Country Village & Museum, and I did not know what to expect or how scary the walk would be. I am not a huge haunted house/walk person, and I think the walk was the perfect level of "haunted-ness" for me. There was no one reaching up out of the ground to grab you or people chasing you with chainsaws, but you may be startled a few times, to say the least. Dress warmly, and sneakers or boots should be fine because you are walking along gravel paths, cobblestone, or inside buildings (not running through a muddy cornfield, as my wild imagination had thought). The decorations, effects, and acting were well done, and I thought the museum struck a good balance between Halloween fun and educating about certain events and experiences from the 1800s (and sometimes the truth is scary!). Outside of the walk, there were also some festive areas with creative, tasty refreshments and opportunities to warm up. Would highly recommend the experience to those interested in history, Halloween, and haunted tours.
