Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was so interesting! The two-hour tour didn't feel too long and the tour guides were knowledgeable and nice. I'd recommend this to anyone with an interest in architecture and historic restoration and preservation. Photos aren't allowed inside the houses and touching is not allowed - keep that in mind if you're visiting with rambunctious kids. Well worth the time and money!

I’ve always wanted to visit Ellis Island and walk the floors my grandfather walked when he came to the US from Poland. This was very heartwarming and very meaningful and memorable. This museum is extremely immaculate, and so much to see and learn. I could’ve spent hours and hours here. The self guided audio tour was amazing and very informative. I hope someday I can go back again. I highly recommend Ellis Island, especially if you have a family history there.

Short on time while passing through town, we decided to stop in and take a look. Although we would have liked to have spent more time, we had about an hour to explore the library and museum, which was very well done. The exhibits provide an engaging history of FDR‘s time in office along with original artifacts, including his oval office desk, his car, and his famous glasses. If you like presidential history, this is a great place to spend some time.

The museum is quite large geographically but for us it was easy to visit all the accessible spaces in just over two hours. When we were there, there were huge inaccessible areas being prepared for exhibitions... impressed most by the Asian collection, European collection closed, American collection quite limited, Modern nearly nonexistent. A potential visitor should probably check out the Exhibits schedule before deciding to go. Nevertheless, for us, the Brooklyn was worth the time to visit just to see Judy Chicago's Dinner Party. Exceptionally important piece that is so very very impressive. Don't miss the Kehinde Wiley painting and Rodin sculptures in the side hallways of the entrance atrium.

We visited this on March 7th and were blown away by it. We done the museum and it is a very eerie feeling down there. Knowing what happened that day and the lives lost. Listening back to family audio of loved ones who were lost in this tragedy.

The overall experience is worth visiting and you can spend hours on end here, listening to the audio alone is heartbreaking.

    Definitely worth a visit

Very very nice. Full of military displays of aircraft and battleship and destroyer. USS Little Rock is open for tour. Your average Military Park and museum. I enjoyed my time there!

I have visited multiple times and always learn something new. The museum exhibits are so well done and interesting. For anyone interested in this time in our history, it is a must see. We spent most of the day there.

Fantastic and beautiful. The house and grounds are wonderful with amazing views of the Hudson. A real gem that is worth the trip to go see.

Our guide/docent was so very knowledgeable about how the home was used, the art (quite a lot about the artists and how they were commissioned for the art seen), and how each Rockefeller generation added/changed the details like the dinnerware. I left with a different perspective of this family, not the magnitude of their wealth but how much PASSION they had professionally and recreationally and how family oriented this home actually is.

I took the one-hour guided tour of the Capitol (self-guided visits are also available). The tour included all aspects of the building - including its history, architecture, three incredibly ornate staircases, elevator, governor's reception area, Senate and Assembly chambers, and the Hall of Governors. The guide was informative and I really enjoyed the tour. On the Empire Plaza outside the Capitol building, you can ride to the top of the Corning Tower (42 stories) for outstanding views of the countryside.

We took the 1 hour tour. Tour guide was a Japanese gentleman who was brilliant - very thoughtful commentary - answered all questions & clearly very passionate about the UN's mission esp. Sustainable Development objectives. There was an event going on inside the General Assembly hall which was unfortunate and we could only go into it briefly but the rest of tour was very worthwhile esp. Security Council room. My teenage children werent enthused initially about going, but even they enjoyed it. Left the tour understanding more about the UN and all its various missions than before. Worth the ticket and time.

If you enjoy visiting historic locations that have re-enactors, you might enjoy this place. First, it has a lot of old buildings that you can poke around in, it has a knowledgeable staff, tours are available, and they put on various shows during the day. I enjoyed a person demonstrating how to fire a musket.
Entry is gained only through a gift shop and visitors center. Restrooms are available in the visitors center. Food is available within the fort complex at a small facility. The food is standard fast food fare, but it's tasty.

We enjoyed exploring the fort. We did not join a tour, but we saw guides interacting with other visitors. A worthwhile visit.

It’s a small museum with a tour required. It cost $12. There are some videos to watch which were interesting. The room itself is restored after having other uses over the years. I liked it.
