Unlike other WW2 museums I have been to (New Orleans, Fredricksburg, Normandy) that focus on battle particulars, this gem of a museum in Wolfeboro is all about the social and cultural aspects of the 1939-1945 war...
For tis size, it compares favorably with the WWII museums in Natick, MA and New Orleans, LA.
They have a weather research station on top of mountain as well as several museums and historic sites.
Mount Washington Observatory Weather Museum offers those less inclined to brave the drive up the auto road the benefits of the summit museum without the dare-devil trip up the mountain.
1 Way to experience it
Often described as a "Little Gem" of art museums, the Currier Gallery of Art was established in 1929.
The Currier has been recognized consistently as one of the best small art museums in the country, and continues to offer astounding variety and quality.
USS Albacore Museum Portsmouth
We prefer self guided museums, so this was perfect for us.
This museum is outstanding for anyone who wants to get a feel of what life on a submarine feels like, or for anyone interested in modern Naval history or the history of the Seacoast area.
A lot of museums could learn from this approach and the amazingly enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff/volunteers
One of the best living history museums I have ever been to.
This is one of the better children's museums.
From crafts to dramatic play to more engineering type activities, to music based activities to the wonderful play section for littles.... Overall, I'd recommend this museum.
The Woodman Institute & Museum is one of my favorite museums to browse.
The best part of the museum is the narratives from the docents who are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
SEE Science Center Manchester
Loved our time at this museum as a good break for our children ages 9 and 12 while traveling through New England.
It's my 2 year old granddaughters favorite museum!
Unique and interesting museum -- family-friendly with something for everyone!
Excellent Motorcycle/police museum
