Excellent State Parks, interesting Historical Sites, beautiful shorelines and overlooks, awesome waterfalls, great hiking, backpacking/camping, biking, kayaking/canoeing, delicious restaurant, great breweries, lot...
... of Duluth & Scenic 61 is as beautiful the 1st time as it is on every occasion!! Driving up the North Shore is one of my favorite things to do...so many great little towns with charming shops, restaurants, views!!
Wonderful tour deep underground - the history presented, and the first-hand view of what the miners' lives were like was terrific.
You can walk around the park for free and see some interesting sites, but if you decide to take the tour, they will take you down 27 levels underground to where the miners use to work.
Take a trip to one of the most beautiful State Park found - Itasca State Park near Park Rapids, MN - to witness this amazing site!
Though farther from the lake, the sites are well surrounded by trees giving a bit of shade and privacy.
On top of Garvin heights is an amazing view with many photo opportunities and to see over the Mississippi into Wisconsin and all the beauty of nature including the Winona lakes below!
We found the views breathtaking from the promontory as the views on a clear day was fantastic as you could see across to Wi and almost all important buildings in Winona including all of WSU.
When in the Twin Cities the Cathedral is a must to visit along with the James J. Hill house, home of The empire builder ( Great Northern Railway) views inside the Cathedral are breathtaking.
WOW !! Big and Beautiful worth a walk thru if your taking I the sights of St Paul or touring the James J Hill mansion which is almost right across the street.
Lakewalk Duluth
One of my favorite places in Duluth...you can walk from canal park to fitgers or go as far as you can it stretches several miles...in November it's a fabulous site to see enormous waves!
The Lake walk is a great way to spend time in the summer, it is family friendly, the view of the lake is great and the gardens are wonderful.
One of the best areas to see in Duluth is Canal Park: great motels, great restaurants, great shopping, great views - especially the Aerial Lift Bridge.
The Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth Minnesota is by far the best Landmark anywhere in the world so much to see and do watching the big ships go under the bridge my personal favorite is the Paul R Tregurtha
Make sure to go to the top, you can see all of Duluth's highlights including the harbor, bridges, parks, Lake Superior, etc. Beautiful views and photo opportunities!
Great hiking trails, and the observation tower provides a view of the city and Lake Superior that cannot be surpassed.
A perfect Fall day to honor our Veterans at a First Class Memorial site at Soldiers Field in Rochester Minnesota.
Well worth the time it takes to walk around and view all the memorial.
Basilica of St. Mary Minneapolis
It is usually pretty peaceful inside and offers a nice respite from a day of site-seeing.
Our visit to Minneapolis was special when we had a chance to view this magnificent shrine.
