What travellers are saying
- Louise W4 contributionsWe treated our sister to lunch at Tantalus. I have a food allergy, the waiter, chef and all the team where amazing. The lunch was fantastic, so many amazing flavours, presentation incredible, service impeccable, setting was gorgeous. Best lunch experience in a very long time, thank youWritten 2 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Holly1 contributionAbsolutely amazing ☆☆☆☆☆
We were picked up from the ferry terminal by Evelyn in the Man O' War bus. We were the only ones on the bus so got quite the experience. Evelyn was absolutely lovely and so informative.
Once we got to the vineyard we had a tasting done, can't remember her name but I think she was French and she was so great. Then we sat and watched the world go by whilst drinking some fantastic wine and a delicious platter.
Once we were ready, and after purchasing wine to take home...Evelyn took us back to the ferry terminal. This was only our 2nd time on the island but we have been lucky enough to experience 6 or 7 of the local vineyards and this is definitely a favourite. It is off the beaten track but so worth it. Great day and beautiful place.Written 29 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were fortunate to have the owner with us so it was super interesting to hear about his journey. Really enjoyed having the food with the wine. Only complaint would be that you had to move between the wines maybe quicker than you want to as someone is guiding you through it so it can go to your head as they are not small tastings.Written 8 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Randall Blackford14 contributionsOneroa is a lovely beach that is long and flat... super for a morning or evening walk. Everyone is friendly and says hi!Written 25 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WaihekeGurl5 contributionsThe Shed at Te Motu is our absolute favourite. The menu is delightful and the team are a dream - checking in to make sure everything is OK but never intrusive.
We have been here many times over the years and it never fails to delight us.Written 5 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The vineyard is on a sloping block overlooking Huruki Bay; the gardens are impressive. Mudbrick Vineyard not far from where the ferry pulls in at Matiatia. The wines are very good. A tasting fee is charged, which is refunded when you buy more than a certain value of wine.Written 5 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Iain B13 contributionsThe collection of sculptures at Connells Bay is brilliant. There are plenty to see and the terrain isn't all flat. But you don't even notice that during the trail you're climbing quite high. There are so many wonderful distractions, from the art and also from the natural scenery around the Park. This is a must do on Waiheke, and in Auckland for that matter.
You can add to the delight of the occasion by booking accommodation at their Cottage too.
The art gallery has some wonderful reading material so if you're into learning more about the pieces and art generally allow plenty of time to take it all in.Written 1 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My favourite was the piano which worked by pumping the pedals!! It played the music as if you were a Maestro!!
The lady in attendance gave us a very comprehensive history of the place.. it is maintained on a voluntary basis and relies on donations from visitors. They have recitals there every so often. A very interesting and enjoyable place to visit.Written 8 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hannah POshiage, Japan10 contributionsGrant was an absolute legend. The winery tour was a highlight of our trip. The vendors were a delight, and the wines even more so. 10/10 for fun and a great way to see a truly beautiful part of the world. Even if it is full of kiwis. 🤪😂Written 16 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Danelle K1 contributionWe did the Luxury Hen's Wine Tour and it was fabulous! Ananda Tours was amazing to deal with from start to finish! Super accommodating, putting in their best efforts with my additional requests to ensure the day was what we wanted. Our driver and guide, Bill was awesome and we loved everything about the day! The vibe, the food and the wine was fantastic. I can highly recommend Ananda Tours <3Written 16 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The instructors were very friendly and made sure that we were all safe. The zip lines all had spectacular views. Both archery range and electronic clay shooting were fun and 30 minutes passed so fast that I was only beginning to have real fun. Meals served with vine weren’t the best I had in my life but nothing too bad either. Worth noting Wild On accommodated our large group of friends on busy weekend despite not having made any reservations so big thumbs up for their customer oriented approach. Great fun!Written 1 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
