We treated our sister to lunch at Tantalus. I have a food allergy, the waiter, chef and all the team where amazing. The lunch was fantastic, so many amazing flavours, presentation incredible, service impeccable, setting was gorgeous. Best lunch experience in a very long time, thank you

    Absolutely amazing ☆☆☆☆☆

We were picked up from the ferry terminal by Evelyn in the Man O' War bus. We were the only ones on the bus so got quite the experience. Evelyn was absolutely lovely and so informative.

Once we got to the vineyard we had a tasting done, can't remember her name but I think she was French and she was so great. Then we sat and watched the world go by whilst drinking some fantastic wine and a delicious platter.

Once we were ready, and after purchasing wine to take home...Evelyn took us back to the ferry terminal. This was only our 2nd time on the island but we have been lucky enough to experience 6 or 7 of the local vineyards and this is definitely a favourite. It is off the beaten track but so worth it. Great day and beautiful place.

Really enjoyed this experience. We were a group of four who were able to ask questions and learn a lot. We were fortunate to have the owner with us so it was super interesting to hear about his journey. Really enjoyed having the food with the wine. Only complaint would be that you had to move between the wines maybe quicker than you want to as someone is guiding you through it so it can go to your head as they are not small tastings.

Oneroa is a lovely beach that is long and flat... super for a morning or evening walk. Everyone is friendly and says hi!

The Shed at Te Motu is our absolute favourite. The menu is delightful and the team are a dream - checking in to make sure everything is OK but never intrusive.
We have been here many times over the years and it never fails to delight us.

This pioneering winery dates from 1978, making it the oldest winery on the fabled Waiheke, New Zealand's island of wine. The winery overlooks scenic Putiki Bay. The winery was established by the Goldwater family, and it now hosts the University of Auckland Wine Science Centre. This boutique estate makes wonderful wines; it also has great ocean views.

Some vineyards are better than others; Mudbrick Vineyard is one of the more up-market destinations on Waiheke the Island of Wine. The vineyard is on a sloping block overlooking Huruki Bay; the gardens are impressive. Mudbrick Vineyard not far from where the ferry pulls in at Matiatia. The wines are very good. A tasting fee is charged, which is refunded when you buy more than a certain value of wine.

The collection of sculptures at Connells Bay is brilliant. There are plenty to see and the terrain isn't all flat. But you don't even notice that during the trail you're climbing quite high. There are so many wonderful distractions, from the art and also from the natural scenery around the Park. This is a must do on Waiheke, and in Auckland for that matter.
You can add to the delight of the occasion by booking accommodation at their Cottage too.
The art gallery has some wonderful reading material so if you're into learning more about the pieces and art generally allow plenty of time to take it all in.

Podere Crisci Winery is a touch Italy on Waiheke Island, just an hour by ferry from Auckland. Podere Crisci Winery is well run. It grows a trio of Italian wines -- Arneis, Nebbiolo and Montepulciano apart from other grape varieties. Podere Crisci is well run; the accliamed restaurant serves genuine Italian food. The vineyard is 7,7 ha (19 acres), on a north-facing slope. Opening hours may vary accoding to season. The winery is situated near scenic Awaawagrea Bay.

Although Waiheke is a small island, there is only so much you can do in one day, so it pays to work out your itinerary in advance. We enjoyed Obsidian Vineyard, the whites were especially good. You can get a fine view over the vineyard while you enjoy your wine. By the way, obsidian is a form of black volcanic glass which was prized for its sharpness.

My colleagues and I joined a Fullers Winter Wine and Dine Tour and we chose Stonyridge as the winery to visit.

It was essentially a free and easy tour. From the Waiheke Ferry Terminal, we took the Explorer Bus to Stonyridge. It was a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was fairly crowded.

We’d managed to get a sofa seat with views to the valley, which was nice. Food was a lunch platter for sharing.

It was fun watching all the activities around us. There was a small wedding party at that time. Weather was great.

Overall we had a fun time at Stonyridge.

Quaint old style wine tasting room with a very knowledgeable host and winemaker. Worth a visit if in the area. A world apart from the more commercial operations nearby. Opens am and from 2pm wed-Sunday

Loved the welcoming staff ,the food and the wine .This is just what I wanted from Waiheke .Excellent and highly recommend for a true Waiheke experience without the silliness of city style wineries and all the pretentious they attract .

I’ve done a lot of adventures over the years and, while the physical challenge is always welcome, not all experiences rate as superb. This one does and the difference is Andrew. From initial contact, to final farewells and follow-up email with photos and tips, Andrew doesn’t miss a beat. He’s made for this kind of experience - organised, kind, safety-focused, a great communicator, knowledgeable and fair. But above all else, his personality is perfect for customer-focused adventuring. He’s fun, funny, inclusive and a real gentleman. I had a ball riding the segways and I’m 65. Andrew helped develop confidence and then trusted us to proceed at our own level. What a wonderful evening of riding. I can’t recommend this activity highly enough and would absolutely love to do it again. Beach, hills, vineyards, bush, views and just enough challenge - what a wonderful experience.

I spent the day enjoying and learning about native plants of Waiheke from Justine and stopped at a few vineyards on the way! Would highly recommend this tour to any wine lovers who want a more active way to see Waiheke's vineyards.
