Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hadn’t planned to come here but were so happy we did. It was a great lunch and wine tasting. - Debbi Dmattapoisett, ma765 contributionsThis is a beautiful vineyard. It was filled with young people taking photos for Instagram. The view was nice but if you want a great experience at a winery for grown ups go to Batch Winery. Much more beautiful, better wine and less "influencers"Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anthony GWellington, New Zealand1,473 contributionsThis tasting room and vineyard is synonymous with Waiheke. It’s takes a little while if you are doing but with the wee adventure to get there. Great selection of wines, good food, there was a dj playing at the time and we were able to sit back and appreciate the views and atmosphere over some great wines. Worth checking out and defo worth booking.Written 22 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rachel NUSA271 contributionsWe had a lovely lunch at Stony Ridge with truly delicious food. I especially loved the cockles. The service was pretty slow, however, and there were lots of screaming children (not the restaurant's fault), but other than that we have a great time.Written 5 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tigerram224 contributionsThough we only found two of the tasters to our personal liking (the Rose and the Pinot Gris) , the flights were good value compared to others on the island. Traditional was $15 and Legacy was $25Written 16 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ArotakeRoyal Tunbridge Wells, UK811 contributionsPretty good wines and very friendly, accommodating staff. A good area to sit outside whilst tasting the wines in a leisurely manner and opens until 5pm when most others close at 4.Written 17 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Battlecat NZ42 contributionsHave visited many times over the years to enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Every time my wife and I travel to the island we make sure to stop by and have a rose' under the Pohutukawa tree (it has basically become a tradition for us).Written 8 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben G30 contributionsDon’t be fooled by its diminutive stature in comparison to its neighbours; this is a totally different vineyard and a wholly different experience. Lance comes across as hugely experience and passionate about his craft, and you will get a different outlook on winemaking here, whilst sampling some brilliant wines too. Fully recommend a walk-in.Written 29 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PATRICIA H1 contributionWhat a beautiful way to spend your 50th birthday. This was a piece of Italy in the southern hemisphere. Our waiter Alessandro was amazing, so attentive and checked in regularly with me to ensure I was happy with everything. The long lunch was exceptional and the wine match complimented the fresh food. Can’t rate it any higher. Will definitely be backWritten 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Moylough7988 contributionsSuch a beautiful winery. Fabulous scenery, surrounded by vineyards and trees. Perfect setting for a couple or a group for wine tasting. The wines served in the signature tasting were wonderful and we had a wonderful hostess!Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rogan1 contributionOur group dropped into Awaroa Winery. It's one of the smaller vineyards on the island but the wine was fantastic. Each of our group went away with a bottle of something. We were lucky enough to have our tasting while the winemaker was there. He is obviously very passionate about making wine and made the experience really special. Don't miss this winery if you visit Waiheke.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
