Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- HahnTravelsLiverpool, Australia1,299 contributionsBeautiful views and scenery by water, hiking or by car. Plenty of walks down to uncrowded beaches. water an amazing colour in the sun. Amazing area, just get out and wander, grab a kayak or drive some slow roads - eg Picton to Havelock.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - charles t2 contributionsFrom some of the previous reviews I was a little reluctant to do this museum. What a great deal for only $10nzd! - johnnyroadmapNantwich, UK210 contributionsWhat a beautiful little town, the gateway to the South Island. I’ve never seen so many motorhomes queuing for the ferry!
We walked up path which overlooks the town and harbour, a stunning view on a lovely day. The town itself is very quaint with a lovely harbour side looking out to mountains beyond.
A great place to wonder and explore especially if the sun is out.Written 6 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff were great and very knowledgeable and happy to spend some extra time with us to explain the various animals, fish and birds on display. and as an added bonus the food was good to!Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chrissie sBrisbane, Australia29 contributionsWe traveled in the premium lounge. The lounge was very comfortable, spacious and the food and wine were a wonderful combination of NZ produce and premium wines/ sparkling. The facilities were clean and only available to the lounge passengers. It was the service that really impressed us. We had the lovely Kerriana and the lovely little Paula. Both of these ladies not only provided breakfast mimosas but also destination information and a history of the region. All the marine crew we encountered were friendly and professional. The scenery going down the Tory channel into Picton is absolutely spectacular and like a day trip all of it’s own.We really relaxed and enjoyed our smooth sailing and cannot rave enough about the Inter Islander and its service.Written 20 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SuenAndy1983Auckland, New Zealand81 contributionsWhile in Picton we were looking to do a wine tour but because of the time of year there was only 1 tour operating which was fully booked. We found A1 shuttles and went to enquire. They were very obliging and the next day we were picked up at pour accomodation by Tony. Off we went. He had arranged tastings at short notice for us and we were the only couple. We had a great time and Tony was really good company. Enjoyed the time at the vineyards and in the shuttle too. Thanks.Written 21 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Peter WWoking261 contributionsWe had a very enjoyable day with Will (who is from the UK and has a great sense of humour!) and Dan, starting with a briefing on the shore and then we set out into Marlborough Sound. We were the only two people dropped on Blumine Island - by means of a ladder dropped over the front of the boat!!! We wanted to see the rare orange-fronted parakeet - and were successful using Will's hint on where it was most likely to be found. We were (hooray!) picked up after five hours on the island, and then we joined the afternoon passengers on a visit to Motuara Island. We were given a hot drink on the way back to Picton, and then a bonus glass of wine. There were plenty of other sightings on the trip including dolphins and the very rare king shag, only found in Marlborough Sound. Such a good way to spend a day.Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sheila D4 contributionsWe took the Arapawa Blue Pearl Farm excursion with Beachcombers. This tour provided a great trip through the sound to a fabulous experience at the Radon family’s pearl farm. - Suzy M29 contributionsWe did the drop off at Resolution Bay then walked to Furneaux Lodge. The boat ride was excellent - on the way out we got a commentary from the skipper and he was happy to chat too. The ride was fairly long but gave good chance to enjoy the scenery and learn something about the area. On the way back there wasn't any commentary (that I could hear anyway -we were outside on deck) but the weather was good and the views were just incredible.
Prompt service. I would definitely do it again.Written 4 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The ski’s were easy to use and we had a ball out in the sounds. Highly recommended.Written 19 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lyn RTrinity Beach, Australia572 contributionsWe picked a lovely fine Spring day for our three hour sail around the Sound. Nice stable catamaran, good bar on board, useful commentary on local sights. You are provided with a nice feast of green shelled mussels, bread and dukkah, and fresh cooked delicious salmon. It really is a lovely cruise and worth the price. Recommended.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Isn't universal law amazing!
I chatted to the woman, who drives this beautiful machine just before I went into the cafe, just behind the picture, for a coffee. I was saying to her (Debbie, who I know), that going on one was on my bucket list 🫶🏼
Then I met this lovely woman (Lyn) at the cafe, and got chatting. Turned out she is a solo traveller off the cruise ship in port.
She too has always wanted to have a trike-ride, and has not been able to because two people are needed.
We teamed up for the ride = Another thing crossed off the 'Bucket List' for each of us 🥰.Written 9 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
