Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and parents enjoyed the full day wine tour last week. Our tour guide was Gavin, his knowledge and love of the industry absolutely made the experience. He is friendly and welcoming, meaning the entire group thoroughly enjoyed the whole day.

Pick up was smooth and on time and we visited 5 wineries, one including a lunch shop.

Thanks again Gavin, for answering all our questions and sharing your expertise and overall, for making the day FUN!

Would highly recommend this tour and I’m sure we will be back again in the future!

Host & driver Lisa took 10 strangers on a half day afternoon wine tour from Blenheim. She was exceptionally knowledgable & made everyone feel 'at home'. We enjoyed tastings at 3 wineries plus a visit to Makana Chocolate factory & shop. A great experience with 4 different nationalities enjoying each other's company.
Highly recommended and very reasonable price.

Great wine tour, our driver Chris was very knowledgeable and took us to some really nice wineries. The half day was plenty to explore 4 different ones.

Small coach, easy on, easy off. Good meeting instructions and great local wine knowledge. Amazing wines, top shelf and a good choice for lunch.

Bikes and wine - what can go wrong? LOL, nothing! This was such a perfect experience! We booked this tour through Celebrity Cruises who contracts with Explore Marlborough Wine Tours. We were picked up at the port and driven directly to the headquarters of Explore, located adjacent to Whitehaven winery - so it was here that we were outfitted with our bikes and equipment, as well as having our first (of 3) tastings. All told, we biked roughly 7.5 miles over flat paths - some paved but most are gravel, so you have to be careful on the gravel. We had two guides, one in the front of the pack and one in the back coming up the rear in case of stragglers. The tastings at all 3 wineries were lovely. Each winery was small and intimate. The first was Whitehaven, second was Gibson Bridge and the final winery was Forrest Wines. We were served an amazing lunch at Forrest, quite bountiful - as well as an excellent final tasting. At all 3 wineries, we enjoyed generous tastings and learned so much about each individual winery and the history of the Marlborough wine region. We made several photo stops on the ride, so that we could admire the vineyards, the mountains and the countryside as well as learn more about the area. So much fun, highly recommend!

Pamela was an amazing host- we saw 4 wineries, had a great lunch, enjoyed some chocolates. As an added bonus in between wineries, we stopped and tried the local gin. Pamela was full of information. The small group was perfect for visiting the wineries.

We had a wonderful time. Our guide Pamela was accommodating and very knowledgeable. She came up with a great itinerary, but allowed us to add in a few things. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

A spectacular day with Cam, a great way to spend the day and see the beautiful Marlborough region if you have limited time in the area. Cam was not only a friendly, funny and incredibly knowledgeable host, he was also incredibly accommodating of us having a non-drinker in our group and arranging pick up from our cruise ship port. Very good sized group to tour around with and get to know and a great variety of wineries visited

Amazing day with Darleen we enjoyed the tour enormously. The knowledge she had was first class and we did learn a lot but in a fun way! All stops were great, the passion demonstrated by the employees at each stop was first class.

We have done similar tours all around the word and this was certainly one of the best if not the best. We couldn’t recommend Hop and Grape any more. Cloudy bay and Forrest wines were particularly stand out and lunch at St Clare was beautiful and good value.

We had a great experience with Fiscovery Wine Tours! Toni was our guide and she was such fun. Very accommodating to special requests and made sure we were on time but never felt rushed. We went to 5 tastings and had a variety of wines. Lunch was also delicious at St Clair Winery. Fun group, great guide and all around wonderful day.

We visited six vineyards over the space of a day with lunch in the middle. We sampled lots of wine varieties (red & white) and had some really interesting discussions about the different wines, methods of production, history, how the vineyards and wineries work etc etc. Also visited a local award winning manufacturer of gin & finished up in a chocolate factory. The guide was excellent & we throughly enjoyed the day.

The catamaran tour of the Sounds was just breathtaking! Our tour guide for the winery portion, Gavin, was a true delight to spend the afternoon with. Very knowledgeable and put in the extra time to make sure we got to all three wineries as well at the Chocolate Factory (our catamaran tour ran about 20 minutes late). Great experience!

My family and I had the best experience last Thursday 25/01/2024, Andrew picked us up from our motel in the morning and after picking up a few more passengers we set off to our first wine tasting at the Nautilus Wine Estate, after sampling some of their exquisite wines we were able to buy a few bottles of the wines that really tickled our taste buds I mean why not right?
We proceeded on to White Haven our 2nd wine tasting of the day, the Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir were both big hits and a bottle of each has made its way home with us.
We then made our way over to Picton where we met Ed and Sofia who welcomed us aboard the Odyssea,
As it turned out our skipper was also the chef onboard as well, after a scrumptious lunch we set sail for Charlotte Sound en route Ed imparted tidbits of information about the Sounds all the while the passengers were able to go below and purchase glasses of Sauvignon Blanc in my case, but I also saw other passengers enjoying cold beers and an other beverages.
It was about this time at we were about to enjoy some fresh green mussels with some fresh bread and olive oil, all washed down with a glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc, the best was yet to come when we pulled into one of the coves to BBQ some salmon, again Ed did a sterling job of BBQing two huge salmon fillets to perfection.
The weather was perfect the wine tasting experience combined with the cruise made for one of the best days ever.

What a wonderful day and I can honestly say I would go out with Pam again and again. Everything was so well organised but we didn’t feel rushed. Nothing was a problem for Pam and she had some great knowledge of the vineyards and area. Would highly recommend this tour with Pam. Amazing day!!
