Great atmosphere, commentary on history. Comfortable boat. Great experience all round with a bonus of a gorgeous day and sightings of multiple dolphins, penguins and seals. Thank you for a great day, HIGHLY recommend.

Seeing the Hectors dolphins was the highlight of the trip but we enjoyed the entire trip. The van guide was knowledgeable and the lunch was great.
The boat trip was great and the captain's commentary was brilliant

Excellent cruise, such a thrill. We are so thankful to the captain and the hostess; she was so kind and helpful. It was quite and informative and wonderful cruise that we thoroughly enjoyed.

What a great way to spend a Sunday morning out on the beautiful harbour with an informative commentary about the history and wildlife of the area. Then the delight of seeing a pod of Hectors dolphins. A free Mimosa for Mothers Day completed the treat
Thanks Roy and Sabina for a great trip

Paddling in Akaroa on a balmy day through the clouds floating atop the waters and Kelp forest, together with New Zealand dolphins and fairy penguins, under the super chill and knowledgeable guidance of Nick. Big thanks Nick and Akaroa Guided Kayak Tours.

We walked to the meeting spot once off the ship and boarded a small van. The van held about 15 people. We drove up to a spot that overlooked the harbour and the scenery was beautiful. It was a chilly windy day so I was glad I had brought my jacket. Our guide gave good information on the town and surrounding area. But, the highlight was the Giants House. It is a walk up a steep hill to get there and then there are stairs to climb but to us it was worth it. The artist Josie was there giving tours of the house. Her eclectic style was wonderful. There is something there for everyone to fall in love with. Her gardens are amazing and she has done it all. We spent over an hour walking around the gardens and took tons of pictures. You were not allowed to take pictures in the house but could take all you wanted outside. There is a small museum at the back with a video about her and some artwork for purchase. I highly recommend the Giants House if you are going to Akaroa. It was a highlight of our trip.

A great introduction to kayaking. Hazel was fab - very tolerant of novice kayakers and good with the camera. Lots of laughs. Great scenery, good commentary and a fab experience. Hint - be the front person so you can't see the anger in your spouses eyes when you are both paddling independently! Had a great time.

Our ship's schedule wasn't great for doing this tour but our driver made sure we were back in time for the last tender. It made it all a bit rushed but this was in no way the fault of the tour company, the driver handled it all wonderfully. Loved the sightseeing component of this tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Was a bit disappointed in the Antartic Centre, it was quite basic. In hindsight, I would opt for just a sightseeing tour.

Our driver did a great job showing us the Banks Peninsula and Christchurch. It's a shame so much damage from the 2011 Earthquake in Christchurch, but still beautiful and good to hear the story and rebuild going on. The Jet Boat ride on the Waimak was a real hoot! loved it. Would recommend!

The best part of this tour was the sheep farm. The people who run the farm are lovely, and gave us an excellent overview of the what it takes to run a sheep farm. As well, the tea and scones were delicious and the owners were extremely hospitable and engaging. They deserve a 5/5. There was some disorganization at the outset as a driver did not show up which left our driver handling it all. He was excellent (Dennis) and gave us a great deal of information as we drove to Christchurch. We then switched vans and had limited time at the museum before being dropped off for a lunch break. Janet was our driver for the afternoon and she also had a lot of information to share. She did a very good job but was compromised by the van she had to drive. The van that we were in for the afternoon was much too cramped for the number of people and any many of the clients were uncomfortable which should never have occurred. Given the narrowness of the seats, there should have been fewer people and another van added. It is not ok to fill the van to capacity when the leg room is cramped and the road is very winding. Two people had some car sickness which may not have occurred if they had more room. Everyone should be warned in advance of the type of road. It is very manageable if people have room and a window.
