Visited last year and purchased a ring, the chap was very patient and helpful as I made up my mind (so many beautiful rings to choose from). I lost the ring, which I absolutely loved, and after a month of hoping I would find it decided to order another online. It was dispatched straight away, I received tracking updates, and it arrived the next day. Fantastic service yet again.

Best place to buy gifts (for special friends or to treat yourself!) From ear-rings to house wares & pieces of art, the choice is always difficult.

Before my holiday, I had seen a documentary in Canada which informed me about Akaroa's blue pearl industry. The shop itself features informative videos about the farming of blue pearls. They have a good selection of jewelry in a wide range of prices so that it's possible to leave with a piece that doesn't break the bank. The woman who served me took time not to rush the sale, was very friendly, told us about their pre-quake Christchurch location and shared a story about Ian McKellen (his photo with shop owners is on the wall) visiting their store when it was in Christchurch. I hope her Christmas stockings from the US arrived for the holidays! Thank you again, Blue Pearl Gallery.

Stopped on way to Akaroa to buy some local cheeses.
Due to Covid L2 status only 5 people were allowed in the shop at once so there was a queue outside
Bought some yummy pepper cheese and others.
There is facility to sample about 5 different cheeses at the counter plus depending on timing you can see cheese being made out the back.
I would consider this just a shop as opposed as a thing to do.
Worth a 10 min stop en route to Akaroa if you want to support local.

Almost at the corner of rue jolly the sign caught our attention. This store had all wool, alpaca sweaters, scarves, gloves etc. very crafty but since we live in a warm climate at home i didn’t buyback anything, just adored the crafts.

Our first visit to this lovely shop and it did not disappoint. Second to none customer service, which complemented the beautiful clothes. Will certainly be back as well as keeping an eye on the website to see what comes in. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

This is a wonderful wool clothing store. Although a smallish store, it is well stocked, primarily with coats and sweaters in a variety of colors and styles. Items are generally pricey, but I think they're cheaper than in larger cities. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patient.
