What travellers are saying
- KiwiKerry53Wellington, New Zealand4,579 contributionsWhat a strange place! A bit reminiscent of Gaudi in Spain, but not quite getting there. Regardless worth a visit, it is colourful and fun if nothing else!Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Safari562201Goreme, Turkey15 contributionsThe road to the reserve was good and after parking the car, it was a 5-7 min walk to the hut/reception. A phenomenal achievement by a single man. Simply unbelievable!Written 7 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alastair WUpper Hutt, New Zealand26 contributionsGreat learning about the development of Akaroa village and the French influence which still survives albeit with a bit of recent encouragement. Some great archeological artifacts and informative videos.Written 2 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KiwiKerry53Wellington, New Zealand4,579 contributionsThe lighthouse was just down the road after we'd done a walk in the park, so it was no brainer to go a bit closer. Despite it not being open, the male of our group managed a look around as a couple of curators were there. It's nice to see a lighthouse that isn't remote from everything.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KiwiKerry53Wellington, New Zealand4,579 contributionsA nice, refreshing place for an early morning stroll. Easy walking, but bit slippery underfoot at times. A little bit different from usual parks and gardens. Worth the effort.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

The grounds are beautifully kept, they were clean, well-managed and tidy.
There were some seating which was inviting to enjoy to take in the lovely sight of the roses and the memorial.
Very tasteful and attractive.Written 1 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - gailmc896Wellington, New Zealand18 contributionsMy husband is Catholic and we really appreciated being able to go inside and to light a candle and think of those who are no longer with us. - Elizabeth DHalf Moon Bay, New Zealand40 contributionsThis little winery was recommended to us so we stopped in for a wine tasting and platter. Nice casual, friendly service and a chance to taste four local wines that were excellent. Their rose, a Chardonnay, Reisling, and Pinot Noir. It didn’t take long - 1 hr. Go visit it! The whole bill was $80 for one person having wine tasting, a platter for 2, a glass of wine for 1, and 2 bottles of their very lovely rose for us to take away. I will be looking for French Peak Rose in the wine shops back in Auckland.Written 7 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- KiwiKerry53Wellington, New Zealand4,579 contributionsFrom quite a plain drab exterior led to a rich wooden interior. Such a special little church just down from the Giant's House. I was so surprised to fid this little gem open to the world and not a soul in sightWritten 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CindyR54Calgary, Canada192 contributionsWonderful winery with beautiful views. The owner was very personable and knowledgeable. We had a lovely visit and tasting with him. After the tasting we had a glass of wine on the deck and they even brought us a delicious snack. Watch out for cruise ship arrival schedule. We didn’t encounter any but we’re warned to be aware of their schedule.Written 19 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
