Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well worth the drive over if you like gardens.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.
It was family friendly and they brought out games and toys for our young children to play with.

- CoastfansNew Zealand220 contributionsWe came into this beautiful forest park from the historic cemeteries which in themselves are well worth a visit.
Easy, well maintained tracks, stunning specimen trees and a great playground kept us happily entertained in transit back to the village but we barely scratched the surface here and look forward to returning someday.
Perfect refuge from the heat and sun, relatively quiet with only a few other morning visitors and super accessible from town.Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Claire HDunedin, New Zealand6 contributionsRight from the first night at the Onuku Hut I knew we were in for a treat. We ate dinner outside in the sun with the beautiful view of Akaroa Harbour and the birds and nikau palms. So good to leave our packs for pickup the next morning, because the next few hours were pretty hot and steep...and stunning. I was so impressed with the accommodation, and the thought and love that has gone into the tracks and signs and the cottages we stayed in. I left my phone at Onuku on the first night and it was hand delivered at Stony Bay, wrapped protectively in a box decorated with French stamps! I was very grateful for this. We loved the track and there were lots of Wow moments. I would recommend the three day trip so that you get to see and appreciate more. Many thanks to the land owners for allowing us to share their treasure.Written 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrea T2 contributionsOh my goodness, what an amazing walk! We took our dog, a collie cross and she valiantly traversed the fences via the styles over fences. Loved discovering the statues and art installations along the way.
We then went looking for the waterfall along the signed waterfall track but didn't find one, not even a trickle!
Definitely a walk to recommend, not that steep, relatively easy walking but I wouldn't have wanted to carry a child over the many styles.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They make a great range of wines which are only available at the cellar door (open every day).
We strongly recommend a visit!Written 27 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
