Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Huge, both inside and out. Central European markets are a favorite of ours. The availability of a large variety of fresh goods from local vendors reminds us about the tradeoff made in the US as supermarkets with factory farm produce became popular.

We were in and out in under an hour and have to agree that the cellar area is probably the most interesting part of this building. We did smile at the painting of the horse looking directly at the artist!

Everyone should visit this museum, which shows what could happen to Ukraine , if Putin prevails and the difficulties of small nations staying independent when adjoining large powerful nations. The museum charts the Russian take over from 1940 to the early 90’s and independence , with a few years of German occupation. Entrance fee is €5 and it's modern, with a lot of information to view. Also worth seeing is the KGB museum in Riga.

I booked online before travel. Easy to find in the newer part of town
The guide was brilliant and spoke excellent English.
Very interesting- what happened here was truly shocking!
This museum is quite cold as you go to the basement and outside so take warm clothing

Simply an astonishing collection of cars and so many rarities!! Brezhnev's Royce... Russo balt. WOW! WOuld never have thought the museum could hold such vehicles on constant display! Next door there is an active race track too and perhaps at some summer days you can get to visit both in one go. Could be a great set.

Riga is blessed with a lot of art nouveau architecture and you can see what a typical apartment would’ve looked like at this museum. Wander through the rooms and speak to the staff who are all dressed in themed costume.

Incredibly beautiful church, the inside is amazing. We went on Sunday during mass and the singing was very ethereal. Just make sure you have something to cover your head if you don't want to have to buy a head scarf

We enjoyed seeing this cathedral across the square every time we looked out of our upper floor flat. Makes for a useful navigation point. Our visit coincided with the Riga marathon (30,000+ runners); many of whom were post-race relaxing on the grounds immediately surrounding the cathedral.

Nice church in the old town of Riga. Unfortunately it was closed the times I visited so I couldn’t go inside, but I did enjoy walking around the exterior

Excellent performance and staging of a rare ballet (the Fountain of Bakhchisarai) and a good performance of an operetta (The Merry Widow) in a lovely opera house.

Very interesting museum telling a lot about Latvian History and struggle for independence. Visiting the museum one get deep respect for the fact that freedom and democracy are not given emtities but one have to take care and protect.

Much written in English but some parts only in Latvian

Don't miss a trip to this art museum when you're in Riga. Gorgeous building, beautiful art that tells you the history and story of Latvia, and wonderful museum restaurant! Exhibits are first rate with cutting-edge wall texts and an all around receptive feel. Loved it!!

This modern library building is located next to Radisson Daugava Hotel. We saw it from our room window. So we decided to make a visit there.

On arrival in the big lobby, we noticed quite soon that you have to get a visitor pass to go to the upper floors. We didn't have time for that because we wanted to visit also the Railway Museum next door.

The lobby was quite stunning but we have seen many other libraries that dazzle even more with their beauty. This library left a little bit cold impression.

We really enjoyed our afternoon here and it’s well worth the wander (or tram ride on No.11) out of the Old Town for 😊 There is a great selection of beer, friendly and knowledgable staff and a great atmosphere (even on a rainy Monday afternoon!)….highly recommended 👍
