Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awesome experience cycling Riga from city Centre to the seaside. We took the train back, everything was easy. The cycle shop owners fit us with bikes and maps, they were the best!

We had an excellent private tour of Lithuania. We took the 8 day suggested tour and were able to customize it and make some changes. Valdis was very responsive and easy to work with. The trip was divided and our two guides Tomas and Mindaugas were knowledgeable, pleasant, accommodating and English speaking. Lithuania was a beautiful and interesting country to explore off the tourists path.

We just came back from our 4 day vacation in Riga and half of this time we were using the Sixt bicycles. One person can book up to 4 bikes at a time.

    Pros:

    - We found that this option was the most comfortable for us compared to other bike renting options, as we were unsure of a secure place for leaving the bikes close to our accommodation.
    - The bikes were in good condition and accessible at many locations across the city.
    - A whole day rental costs 9 euros* (more on this later), whereas other options were around 15 eur/day.
    - We downloaded the app using the wifi of one of the nearby restaurants and the entire registration process was generally straightforward. Hint: During the initial registration, 10 euros are booked from your account and they are to be used as initial credit.
    - The app is very user friendly.

    Cons:
    - Tariff: The prices displayed on the information board at the bike station do not seem to be consistent with those you are charged with (although the difference is small). We were charged 9.99 per day instead of 9 euros, but having called customer support after day 1, this was corrected. The same happened the next day.
    - The tariff is bound to the specific bike. I.e., it is set up in a way that it charges you per half an hour of renting the bike and upon reaching the daily tariff, it doesn't change any more - however, if you use the bikes for lets say 6 hours, as we did the first day, and return them, the next time you want to rent a bike, even if theoretically it is within the 24 hour period, you will be charged again.

General remarks about biking in Riga: the Old Town has many roads paved with cobble stones, which can make it a bit unpleasant to ride on. Biking infrastructure is generally missing and although we ran across others on bikes, there seems to be a general lack of biking culture, as in many Eastern European countries, which may make your interactions with pedestrians or drivers a bit stressful. On the plus side, due to the size of the city, biking is a very good option, especially if you avoid the city center.

The event was organised via their website and Facebook messenger.

The 13 of us broke into small groups and spent 2 hours driving round the city finding specific landmarks and carrying out bespoke tasks, with each task being worth points.

Many of these tasks were wonderfully silly and involved trying to charm strangers into taking part.

The cars were small, old and quirky, but incredibly fun to drive.

The time went surprisingly quickly, and everyone had loads of fun.

Easily the highlight of a busy, fun packed weekend

These segways are awesome way how to spend some quality time in sunny and warm day. At first it's fun to learn how to control these things and then it's pleasure to drive wherever you want. It's really fun, interesting and also it's a great way to ride to some other points of interest, because it's faster than walking, but at the same time you can see the city, while driving.
