What travellers are saying
- MousieTravels25 contributionsThis might be my Favorite building in Europe! I've been obsessed with the Hungarian Parliament building's architecture for as long as I can remember. I had really limited time in Budapest and communicated to my tour guide how seeing this building was extremely important to me. She made sure I got to see it and spend plenty of time admiring it. What a sight to behold! Yes, you can describe this place as a 'landmark' or 'historical' and it absolutely is, but there is a certain unexplainable magic this place exudes. It truly takes you in and invites your admiration. I did not have the opportunity to see it at night, but during the day you could see it's character and admire the view from different angles. It is definitely something you can get lost gazing at. Impressive, and imposing in the most positive of ways. Gorgeousness and an absolute must on your tourism list!Written 17 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MousieTravels25 contributionsOne of my "bucket list" places to visit! Fisherman's Bastion is really a feast for the eyes. The photos are beautiful, and it is equally beautiful in person. The views are so calming and even though when I went there were a great number of fellow tourists, they were respectful and did not distract from the view or the architecture. It was picturesque, like out of a storybook.
St Matthias Church is right there and I absolutely had to check it out. WOW!! Well worth paying the tiny entry fee.Written 17 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You would be best served to go into this church with a plan to spend at least 45 minutes to one hour admiring the design and architecture. Take your time. There is a lot to see. It is very peaceful and even when there's a lot of people inside, there is a serene quality. One need not be religious to appreciate the beauty and significance. Unfortunately, as my stay was only 24 hours, I did not have enough time to go into the tower, but when I return I plan to do so.Written 12 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s very poinant and thought provoking.
Ruined by people taking selfies & asking where did the people go ??? Why come to a place like this if you don’t know the history !Written 12 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura RGuttenberg, NJ399 contributionsThe castle is under construction, but what is finished is beautiful. The rooms are so exquisite and ornate. It is worth the trip. The entire district is wonderful. There is a church, shops, museums. It is worth it to spend the day there.Written 31 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mamaminxMontreal, Canada751 contributionsI did not have a good time because it was SUPER BUSY AND PACKED. We were looking for food to eat and couldn’t find any others floor. Went upstairs finally found a few places but not many and it was so busy and back to back people, you couldn’t order food or eat. It’s not cheap either so I wouldn’t even bother.
Went back downstairs and got some strudel which was absolutely delicious-sour cherry, peach, cheese, and apple.
Also I very good place to shop for stuff and souvenirs.

- MousieTravels25 contributionsIt was an honor and privilege to be able to step inside this historically significant building. I can only hope that the next time I visit Budapest that I can catch a performance here. Just walking inside the main door, I was left in awe. I was informed that this building was made with all Hungarian materials, which was equally as exciting to learn. This building leaves you wanting MORE. Not in a way that it didn't provide, but wanting more as in not wanting to leave and just to keep admiring it. This should be on everyone's list to visit. Definitely make the time.Written 16 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ernie HCardiff, UK2,301 contributionsA useful marker to know what part of the town / river that you are located. Looks at its beat in the evening when it is illuminated. - Ernie HCardiff, UK2,301 contributionsA calm within the hustle and bustle of the city. Spent many an hour walking around the island. Stopped for lunch, yes a Langos obviously! Plenty of things to see and unwind.Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GerafreiMexico City, Mexico173 contributionsThis is a Unique place, a hospital was built taking advantages of a cave system developed by water filtering Inside the mountain. It is very realistic featuring how life was at the hospital at the time of the Budapest Siege and the 1956 uprising. After that a nuclear shelter was built.
No photos are allowed, only way to visit is with a Guide so check out abedules. Only regret is that they go too fast and you don’t have time to fully apareciatte some of the exhibits.Written 16 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
