- Matt MCheshire, UK48 contributionsIf you stay in Perth you MUST take some time to come and visit this Park. If you are in Perth CBD the free BLUE cat bus will take you there in less than 15 minutes from Elizabeth Quay (you can take the bus in front of The Bell Tower or at the Bus Station). If you stay near the University, then take the free PURPLE cat bus. Walk along your preferred pathway and surely you will reach a lookout point, from which you will have an amazing view over Perth CBD. If you are interested in history, you will find war memorials in different areas of the park that will make you understand the role Australia (and in this case the people of Perth) had in the different conflicts around the world. And if you love science, well, a stop at the DNA Tower is absolutely compulsory. You love BOTANY, instead? In this case you are in HEAVEN. There is no other world to describe it. Amazing was to see how they recreated in the flowerbeds around the park all the different habitats of Australia's main plant species. From 9 to 17 you can walk as well over the Federation Walkway and see the amazing trees from above. I do think a day is not enough to fully appreciate this park, so when you need a break from the city, just head over to this park and enjoy its relaxing atmosphere.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jamakin15Clarence, NY69 contributionsIn that Australia was founded on “convict labor”, the Franmantle Prison tour is a must while visiting Western Australia! The 2 tours that we attended while there were extremely informative about the origins of Australia and prison life of the time. Being a history lover… and an employee of a NYS maximum security prison, I found the tours very interesting! I would recommend it highly… especially for 1st time visitors!Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I want to take the time to thank the generous young lady at the entry , I think her name was Nicole? (big welcoming smile and she had long brown hair) greeted us so nicely and assisted us with our tickets even though we couldn’t find them at first. She found our tickets , which was a big relief, and interacted so kindly with our kids which made them feel so excited , she even gave them fist bumps, so sweet!
The rides were amazing especially loved going on the kraken with the kids and the dragon kingdom rides for our little one. Surprisingly, the line wasn’t too long for a Sunday at kraken. The food pricing was reasonable, loved the pizzas ! Over all, an amazing experience at AW, definetly recommend for all.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My friend purchased a padlock and had it engraved by John who emailed photos of this almost immediately…he was great and this is a wonderful way of noting your visit.Written 6 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwisshenPerth, Australia2,323 contributionsSitting proudly in King’s Park is this gracious memorial to the fallen. The memorial overlooks the city of Perth, with views of the Swan & Canning Rivers and the Darling Ranges.
The memorial is an almost replica of the Australian Imperial Force Memorials in France and Belgium.Written 3 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have crammed a lot into a small space. Even so, it was interesting, and had an eclectic assortment of foods and chattels for sale. It's an easy 10-15 minute walk from the train station, and is about five brisk-walking minutes from Fremantle Prison.Written 24 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jackie R1 contributionReally enjoyed our visit to the Museum. We did the submarine tour which having never been we .enjoyed. But our guide was very rude throughout the trip . Felt we were being told off throughout the tour.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
