We got a multi site visit for the palace, castle and the museum of Alberto Sampaio which is only about a 5 to 10 mins walk from the Palace you pass through the praca da Oliveira to get to it.
We declined the opportunity to view the exhibition of Portuguese siege engines but did combine our ticket with admission to the Museo Alberto Sampaio, which I would recommend.

For my six-year-old it was also memorable because the stairs and supports are built in so you can climb up and explore the top turrets of the castle, and get the strategic view.
The castle was declared a national monument in 1910 and the town as a whole is a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as a former European Capital of Culture.

Amazing area with a lot of coffee shops and bars; you can seat-down, appreciate the view and enjoy the sun...
Spend quality time within to absorb its sanctity, or enjoy a respite in the Plaza outside to eat or enjoy a refreshment and view its historic splendor, and all that the Square has to offer.

The area where services are performed was very ornate, and you were also able to view from high the buriel vault and caskets of those who headed the church in a seperate chamber.

The church is built on the site of a miracle - a sighting of a cross scratched into the ground - some 500 years ago.
