After visiting the twin lighthouses at Caloundra, we drove 15 km north to the free parking lot at Point Cartwright, lucky to snag a spot. We took a selfie at the long view of Wurtulla Beach before joining several dog walkers for 300m to the huge blue water tank covered with sea life murals, and just behind, the tall lighthouse built in 1979. At this commanding spot, we looked over the bay toward Sunshine Coast, spotting several surfers and small sailboats while another couple was watching a frolicing whale just offshore noting we are near the end of the humpback season. It’s well worth a visit, we visited See, RiceBoi, a Greek and Mexican. Liv and her team provide a personable and professional atmosphere to satisfy the most deserning cocktail drinker. We both had the steak sandwich from the lunch menu, it was tasty, tender and neither of us could finish the chips. The outlook is nice, being above the street. It was quiet but I imagine it can get very busy at night or weekends.
