This was part of our 25th anniversary celebration and we wanted to go somewhere special. Paroa Bay Winery did not disappoint. The food was top shelf and service to matched! Highly recommend going to Sage restaurant if you're looking for a fine dinning experience when staying/visiting in the winterless north

Lots of parking and if the wind is in the right direction, this beach is a lovely spot for a dip. Not a lot of shelter from incoming winds, but a nice walk along the beach.

We drove to the point and it was the cheats way, but had an older person with us who would not be able to do the track. There is a small amount of parking and a nice small cove. Beautiful views back over to Waitangi and Paihia on a nice day.

You can walk or sit at this location, it’s just nice to sit and watch the world go by, it can also be fairly sheltered. Worth spending time here for peace and quiet.

This really is a peaceful beautiful track to take through the natural bush. I would say quite an easy walk for most ages.

Rick and Robin are awesome, some of the nicest people you will ever meet and their sailing experience is second to non.
The know the Bay very well and their history of it and knowledge of where to head for the best experience is amazing.
I would highly recommend sailing with them anytime.

Super cool trip out with Screaming reels!
Hamish and Tisha know their stuff and as a novice to catching a Kingi I was guided on every part! From catching the bait to hauling in two Kingfish, (one released as I could) Tisha was calm and explained everything to do so well and Hamish guided us to the right spots.
The fish was filleted to how we wanted and even told us a few cooking techniques, which was perfect. I would highly recommend going with this company!

We were a party of 12, staying at Eagles Nest for three days, looking for some adventure, while in Russell.
We were recommended to contact George & Olivia, at Edge Fishing...hey we wanted some fish, George we were told would deliver.
A bold claim, but 'lo and behold.'.......Kingfish and snapper were caught, gutted on departure, and eaten that night.
We hired two vessels for the half-day, departing a little after 7 am on a calm, sunny morning, an idyllic location, with Edge Fishing Charters.
What a fabulous experience, a great decision, made for a most memorable, professional experience.
Well done, thank you guys, from the dozen celebrating a three-day 70th birthday.

This was absolutely incredible. My son and I have always wanted to go fishing out on a boat, so we knew we needed to give this a try, and it did not disappoint. John is one of the most genuine and knowledgeable people we have met in NZ, and made the trip so memorable. We went on the snapper trip, and caught a ton of them. Once we got back to shore, a local shop cooked them up for us and they were truly incredible. To sum it up, the fishing was amazing, and John is a true gem of a skipper that made everything come together perfectly. Even if you don’t like to fish, give this a shot and I guarantee you will want to go again by the end.

Four novice fishing people out to spend 6 1/2 hours on the ocean fishing for kingfish could have been a huge mistake, I’m sure that’s what captain Paul thought when he set eyes on us.

    What a day we had.

We caught our bait first, ‘cos you need it fresh & alive. We didn’t realize everyone fishing for kingfish had to do the same thing.
Competition was tight with 3 other boats all vying for the bait, lucky for us we got the jump on the others by getting there early. And we were a little slow at catching on what we had to do. Captain Paul thought we’d never get enough fish for our big day out. But we managed then set off to the secret spot to catch Kingi’s.
I think we changed Paul’s opinion after we reeled in our first kingfish in a matter of minutes after securing our anchor. Then I caught two more!
Then we moved on and caught three more! We also caught snapper, one was massive.
    Brilliant day.

But no fish. I did a morning snapper fishing with 3 others. We spent an hour or so getting bait then headed relatively close in for straight down bottom fishing & also light lead snapper rigs out the back. It blew a SE wind up to 16 k/m which evidently isn't good for snapper in January. One keeper amoungst the 4 of us. Real nice day though. That's fishing.
