- Tom BAuckland Central, New Zealand4 contributionsThis is one of the highlights of Russell. A superbly presented historic building of the utmost importance in NZ history. Tour guide knowledgeable and passionate, the entire enterprise expertly restored to explain the role of the Catholic diocese in the area. Highest recommendation.Written 14 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Paroa Bay Winery did not disappoint. The food was top shelf and service to matched! Highly recommend going to Sage restaurant if you're looking for a fine dinning experience when staying/visiting in the winterless northWritten 6 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shelley MAlbany, New Zealand448 contributionsLots of parking and if the wind is in the right direction, this beach is a lovely spot for a dip. Not a lot of shelter from incoming winds, but a nice walk along the beach.Written 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SaraNzNZ19 contributionsTake the time to wander outside and read the headstones. The stories they tell will engage and give you a real insight into early settler life (and death) in Russell.Written 31 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - annepharm8Bridge of Allan, UK92 contributionsA lovely relaxing place for an excellent platter lunch, good views, friendly and attentive staff and very good wines. Would highly recommend.Written 8 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Trudi WAuckland Central, New Zealand131 contributionsThis is a very small museum but I figure the $10 entry fee also helps provide the no-cost exhibits outside as well. They suggest you begin with the video and I agree, it’s great and really gives you a fabulous pocket history of the area. The museum is crammed with wee gems - both artefacts and information - and well presented.Written 15 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shelley MAlbany, New Zealand448 contributionsWe drove to the point and it was the cheats way, but had an older person with us who would not be able to do the track. There is a small amount of parking and a nice small cove. Beautiful views back over to Waitangi and Paihia on a nice day.Written 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ScampinIzzyWhangarei, New Zealand389 contributionsYou can walk or sit at this location, it’s just nice to sit and watch the world go by, it can also be fairly sheltered. Worth spending time here for peace and quiet.Written 10 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shelley MAlbany, New Zealand448 contributionsWell worth the time to check out the tracks. It has 4 stages and we only did 1,2 and 3. The walk over the mangroves is nice, you can spot the fish in the water as you walk over. There was no toilets nearby. Definitely need a moderate rate of fitness and not suitable for strollers.Written 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were lucky enough to see Dolphins and went snorkling with Stingrays! - Lynz_harris681 contributionFabulous afternoon as soon as Mark picked us up from our accommodation. Ake Ake winery activated the tastebuds for both boutique wines and delicious limoncello. Lunch at Marsden Estate was fresh and flavoursome, followed by an offering of another 'full range' wine tasting.
Great food and wine onboard and feeling very content, we headed back to our accommodation stopping along the way at Living Nature for a quick bit of skin care shopping. A fabulous time and connect of beautiful Aotearoa showcased by Rogue Pony tours. Next day we were met at the wharf by Mark in his stunning Mustang, the drove us to the indoor studio where we let our inner creativity explode with some gentle metal bashing to create pieces of art for both our ears - and our walls. Honestly, I couldn't recommend this more.
Thanks Mark and Tui for a wonderful two days!Written 12 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
