Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- LucysMumNzRotorua, New Zealand177 contributionsA paradise for big boys and little boys alike, and even for the girls. Beautifully displayed and maintained vehicles. Highly recommend taking a warm jacket in winter as the halls were freezing.Written 20 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did it at dusk one day when it was getting hard to see and even then it seemed special. We returned in the morning and had a great time strolling around. Bonus: there's a lovely cafe integrated in one corner of the park.Written 10 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sherpa252088642601 contributionReally good for kids. The Kea, Morepork and baby meerkats are really good. Everything very clean and knowledgeable keepers. The cathedral itself is quite imposing and inside is very peaceful. Loved most of the inside but in particular the stained glass windows, the Labyrinth (very simple but very effective), the Taiaha and its story, and the historical flags. Nice to see an area put aside for scouts and guides and some of the plaques/memorials on the walls are very interesting. Well worth taking the time to visit - we returned via side paths rather than straight down the steps and saw further differing views of the cityWritten 21 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rob9 contributionsOne of the best Art Galleries (if not the best) visited. Galleries tend to get a bit overwhelming at times and I get "pictured" out. Not so The Suter Art Gallery. Well presented and laid out, descriptive displays and plenty to see.
What a treat - well done Suter Art Gallery.Written 14 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's run by volunteers and the lady who guided us was friendly and knowledgeable. You can choose to have a guided tour by a volunteer, or a self guided tour using the audio available in a few of the rooms - little stereos that you press play on to hear the audio. It's a lovely piece of NZ history and well worth the visit.Written 28 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - evets1232016Sydney, Australia417 contributionsThere is a lot of local colonial history here, as well as some Maori history. Also some taxidermy of local birds, and a display of photos and videos of comical moments of animal life. Good for a rainy day.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
