Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great to stand in the centre of NZ and sit on the chairs and get breath back and take it all inWritten 20 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did it at dusk one day when it was getting hard to see and even then it seemed special. We returned in the morning and had a great time strolling around. Bonus: there's a lovely cafe integrated in one corner of the park.Written 10 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's run by volunteers and the lady who guided us was friendly and knowledgeable. You can choose to have a guided tour by a volunteer, or a self guided tour using the audio available in a few of the rooms - little stereos that you press play on to hear the audio. It's a lovely piece of NZ history and well worth the visit.Written 28 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - evets1232016Sydney, Australia435 contributionsThere is a lot of local colonial history here, as well as some Maori history. Also some taxidermy of local birds, and a display of photos and videos of comical moments of animal life. - Ruth1 contributionThe mall itself is great but as said in another review The Hungry Wok is not the best. While some of their food is very healthy I found it difficult to taste any meat in the "meatballs." When opened they are more like flour balls. They may have mixed a small amount of pork or chicken in them but I couldn't taste either... just flour. Bit of a scam going on or someone forgot to put the meat inside them that day!Written 13 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
