- brendafrostAuckland, New Zealand14 contributionsA good insight to the local history of the town, great use of some of the original buildings show casing the Oamaru stone construction the town is known for. Good variety of outlets and even had a local jazz band playing in the morning.Written 26 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- brendafrostAuckland, New Zealand14 contributionsAn interesting place to visit to go back in time to when area first settled. Displays very good and appear to be relevant to the area and depict how the town was established and the history of the area. Good for children.Written 26 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- brendafrostAuckland, New Zealand14 contributionsA walk to the end of the harbor you will find the penguin centre and seals which lay up on the grass area and rocks during the day, some will even put a showoff display on for you. Can visit here at night to watch the penguin parade. Also along the harbor is a wharf which has been totally taken over by shags - from one end to the other now so that has been closed to the public.Written 26 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MoolooSwampyAuckland, New Zealand224 contributionsThe bacon butties ($6 each) are a highlight. Excellent coffee, a good range of vegies, cheese, baking and other yummy local produce, and all just along the road from the unique playground and opposite the historic quarter.Written 1 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CamdaWellington, New Zealand629 contributionsLovely that these penguins have been protected and encouraged to nest in man made boxes on the shoreline. You have to go late at night and a lot of waiting and patience is required. We were there at 8.30 but had to wait over an hour from memory to see the penguins come ashore. The commentary was too hard to hear which was disappointing as we waited. Maybe the guides could ask if everyone can hear them ok? Was a oncer but a little pricey.Written 7 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WilsonFamilyNzPleasant Point, New Zealand535 contributionsDropped in for Lilly fix, great variety and great prices, friendly staff, only issue was exit as with Covid it’s a one way, had to wait to get back down ramp in my wheelchair, but it worked wellWritten 11 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
