Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely worth a stop. You could watch the seals & their pups forever. Really loved this stop. A definite to do. Put it on your list.

This is a wonderful walk in Kaikoura. The full loop is about 12 km but you can do a shorter version of desired. On the way there are many look out points for you to enjoy the beautiful picturesque landscape and ocean. There are also a lot of seals along the coastal section. You can also hear them bark. You can either walk along the top of the cliff or along the shoreline. I highly recommend doing both if you have time. All in all this is one of the best and most accessible day walks in NZ.

Distressing to see dead seal pups, they looked starved. People getting within 2 m of the seals to get a photo. The seals here are not safe from people.

Pete did a fantastic job explaining and showing us all there is to know about sheep and shearing. Highly recommended for families. The view from the shearing shed was incredible!

We'd been before on out last trip but it's definitely worth doing again. The displays are great. Our only gripe was the fact that the earthquake display was now part of the general museum - that's only because it was fascinating seeing it all in one place before. However, there's a lot to see and a huge amount of history and local stories. Very well laid out and something for everybody. We'd go again if back in the area once more

We booked this as the weather didn't look good, but it proved an excellent experience. I had never done n escape room before, though my companion had. Without giving too much away, the puzzles were intriguing, some involving hi-tech equipment

As far as the theatre was concerned it was top notch and the staff member was interactive. For both of these I would have given an 'excellent' review. The movie was excellent too BUT the volume was ridiculously loud. Within 1 minute I sounded my disapproval to staff who in all fairness was not prepared to adjust the settings. I waited until the trailers were over in the hope the film itself had less volume. It did but it was still far too loud. Twenty four hours later my ears are still suffering. No way should anyone be subject to this torture. If theatres want business then they need to consider their customers and not blindly follow the settings. Yes, I should have demanded my money back after the first minute. In future I will and I ask others to do the same. Then we can enjoy the films we enjoy with the appropriate level of sound. Personally I think a 50% discount would have been appropriate. This experience spoiled an afternoon outing with my wife who likewise suffered from the sound.

We did the 1 hr 'taster' with the llamas. So different from the usual activities on offer. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This kayak trip was absolutely one of the best experiences so far on our 30 day NZ adventure. Kiley was our guide and she went over and beyond to make our sea lion watching kayak adventure amazing. She was an excellent communicator and gave us a comprehensive overview of the sea life as we paddled through the coves. Everyone on the team gets 5 stars.
Highly recommend this kayak tour company!

We had a beautiful walk along the beaches in Kaikoura with Kevin and his fascinating and intelligent llamas. It’s a cool experience to bond with an animal this way and I highly recommend it. The yummy cakes and coffee is a nice bonus!

Amazing! Saw whales, seal and a mystery other single shape! We had a boat trip cancelled but this turned out better. I am a nervous flyer but it was gentle and I am so pleased we went for this.

Thanks Sam and all the crew!
