Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A well run boat trip, on a great air conditioned boat your quickly be taken out to where schools of dolphins play, then onto the whale watching zone .

With great commentary and videos and a 95% success rate you’re likely to come across a sperm whale, we did within 20mins.

This area is unique and ideal for sperm whales and this business specialises in conservation and whales preservation.

It was lovely to get out on the water and watch the seals from that vantage point. Our guides were terrific - knowledgeable and friendly!

Even though we were unable to go whale watching, because of bad weather our guide, Sally took very good care of us. Sally was genuine and shared interesting information. She is a good driver and made the trip enjoyable. We had coffee, shopped, ate lunch, went to a winery, and even stopped along the road to view a seal colony. Even though we couldn’t see the whales, it still was an interesting adventure. Sally made the trip worthwhile.

Amazing experience, lucky with perfect weather and conditions and a great pilot who was entertaining and professional with great knowledge and yarns. Saw whale, dolphins and a shark

I can't say enough good things about the Llama trek. This was such a unique and special experience for our family. Each adult member of our party of 6 was given a llama that we worked with for the entire trek. I also had my 7 year old son with us, and he walked with the guide and myself the majority of the time.

The llamas are shy and cautious by nature, due to their natural prey instincts. Under the instruction of our guide, we could feel our individual llamas grow in their trust toward their walking partner. That was such an incredible experience. By the end, we found ourselves bickering playfully over whose llama was superior. (Mine was, of course!)

This was an easy walk, nothing steep or arduous. There were lots of breaks built in for the llamas to graze. That was a nice thing-- I have done so many horseback riding experiences where we are fighting to keep the horse from grazing. Here, the llamas were encouraged to eat. No wonder they liked us at the end. I will say the walk wasn't anything to write home about in terms of views. No stunning vistas or seal colonies. Just a simple path. But really we didn't need any of that. The llamas were fun enough!

I believe our guide-- Kevin-- was the owner of the property. He was lovely. Funny, patient, and informative. I was very impressed with how he worked with our son. He even let him lead one of the llamas all by himself toward the end-- we did not anticipate that! He also brought along his 3 dogs. They were fun companions for our trek too. Often running ahead and bringing back sticks and so on.

We did lots of things during our 10 days in New Zealand but the whole family agrees the Llama trek was among our favorite.

Our pilot was great, skilled and very informative. The views over the bay were incredible. We saw several orca although the sperm whales remained elusive.

We had an amazing sunny afternoon flight with Aaron. Thanks to Aaron’s flexibility we started an afternoon earlier to use the incredible weather. Spotted a Sperm Whale, a huge group of dolphins and seals sleeping on the coastal rocks. Great experience, thank you so much for this excellent whale experience :)

For our whole family this was one of the top events during our holiday in New Zeeland! Even my dad ( who has seen a whole part of the world) listed this in his top 3 events during our holidays! Don't book a boat tour to see the whales but simply book your flight with wings over whales! Super friendly crew, good explanations and you get to know more about the whales!

Fantastic excursion out over the ocean to view a sperm whale offshore. Also got to see some dusky dolphins on the flight out. Our pilot was exceptional. He coordinated well with the whale watching boats and scenic planes to help locate at least one whale in the vicinity.

Kevin really showed our family a good time on this super fun llama trek for our whole family. The llamas were really cute and Kevin told us everything we needed to know to comfortably co-exist and walk the llamas. We had a great time, enjoyed some great laughs and got to know these splendid farm animals. Highly recommended when you're in Kaikoura!!!

Swimming with dolphins in Kaikoura was one of my all time most memorable experiences. Totally amazing, words fail me but please don't miss. Really well organised, great staff, careful briefing and be sure to book early as this is rightly popular as the highlight on any visit to NZ. Best ever

Great service to maximize my experience. My booking was brought forward a day to maximise the weather conditions, and it worked out perfectly! Blue skies, snow capped mountains and a very pleasant flight (no bumps). Would highly recommend...

We saw all we hoped for and more. Got very lucky and spent an hour or more with a Blue Whale, saw a massive pod of dolphins maybe 200+, hung out along the beach with big family of fur seals and even saw couple type of Albatross. Jock was a super guide that knew the area well and was able to make adjustments on the fly as it was just us. All in all my highlight of a two week trip in South Island, New Zealand. A great experience!!! Highly recommend but do remember nature is not a zoo, you see what you see!
