Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great half day hike with spectacular scenery. Be prepared to use up to 6 hours of walking with room to rest and enjoying the views.

We were surprisingly able to get so close to the seals! They didn’t seem afraid (but still i wouldn’t recommend going THAT close) and it’s so nice to see them in the nature . You might have to walk a fair bit to get onto the rocks to see them but we didn’t have much trouble at all and we had 3 young kids with us! Highly recommended!!

I've driven past for years and finally stopped in. Enjoyed the talk and tour with Bary our knowledgeable and engaging guide.

We didn’t even know about this cycle trail until we got to Kaikoura but I’m really glad we did it. It’s a mix of off road, gravel and road riding. Some parts were reasonably challenging if you weren’t someone who does a lot of cycling (me!) We found the signage to be a ‘mixed’ bag. Mostly really good but then occasionally hard to see…as a result we did a few extra kms!! Lovely not to be on any main roads. We did it clockwise.
