Great coffee, watching the magic show for the kids, was actually very funny. Fabulous scenery along the way. Despite rough seas and high winds it was a really pleasant sailing.

Don’t hesitate. Just book it. Jordan was great, informative, down to earth. Managed to see both humpback and sperm whales and flew up the side of a mountain. Not your average afternoon..

The staff were friendly and the pilot did his very best to find a whale, which we did toward the end of the 30 minute flight. An amazing experience!

We had an incredible afternoon out in the sea with our guide Emma, who equipped us with all the gear to keep us warm and (mostly) dry. She was very knowledgeable about the wildlife we encountered and took + sent us photos from the tour for the memory bank :) We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our crayfish dinner recommendation afterwards too.

Good experience. Went north for a leisure activity and sailed on the ferry and it was smooth. Nice and relaxing.

An all-round great experience! Was a beautiful day; Emma our guide was lovely and helpful. Seeing the fur seals up close was awesome, unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to see any dolphins or whales but that just means we will have to come back again!

Swimming with dolphins in Kaikoura was one of my all time most memorable experiences. Totally amazing, words fail me but please don't miss. Really well organised, great staff, careful briefing and be sure to book early as this is rightly popular as the highlight on any visit to NZ. Best ever

Ohhh my Lord!! A once in a lifetime experience absolutely and wholly recommend! Firstly the scenery sea and snow all in one visual field MAGICAL! Then the crew, office, online booking everything to do with this experience was absolutely polished, easy, friendly and one of the best we’ve ever dealt with. Crew and knowledge was outstanding. The effort of “chasing the sonar” and then finally the result… breath taking and spell binding! If the whale wasn’t enough they then found a pod of dolphins and that was the most sensational spectacle I’ve ever witnessed!!! EXCITING, EXHILIARATING & EXTRAORDINARY! Rate at 100% perfection THANK YOU 🐳🐋💥

The whole experience was a bit different for us as we had our guide Ruben all to ourselves for the evening kayak.

We have never used these types of foot pedal kayaks before, so it was it new challenge for us - still had to pedal, but we didn't have much to do with our arms. We got put into the water so didn't have to get wet and the same coming out. Only water that got on us was the bottom of our shoes on the beach!

Pretty big swells the evening we went out, so we wernt able to get as close to the seals as we would have liked, but there were a few in the water around us which was great. We started getting a bit Sea sick after an hour so we started heading back after that. Really enjoyable experience and would recommend it to anyone. Great value for money.

I just finished my trip with Stray that I took along the South Island of New Zealand on their Big South Freestyle Pass. I have already travelled with them in Laos, Myanmar and Australia and due to my positive experiences that I already had with this company I decided to hop on the Stray Bus again for an epic adventure through New Zealand's beautiful South Island. One concept that I like most about the Stray tours is the hop-on hop-off option that gives the ultimate freedom to stay longer at a stop if desired and travel at one’s own pace, yet having all the benefits of an organized group tour. I usually like to travel independently, however I was a bit intimidated driving in New Zealand by myself, therefore was really happy that this was taken off me and I could simply relax and enjoy the views in the Stray bus and and have the stress of driving taken off me. The drivers that took me around the South Island (Cookie, Rolex and Shorty) were all amazing. Friendly, passionate about their job sharing insider information with us and spreading good vibes.

The itinerary of the Big South Island Freestyle Pass is very optimized and perfect if you want to see everything in a short amount of time (however I would recommend hoping off in Abel Tasman, Wanaka and Queenstown and staying a bit longer if you have the time).

I really enjoyed my trip and meeting awesome people from all over the world and of course discovering this beautiful country with Stray. Definitely thumps up! Can recommend.
