She knows everything about her gins and the story behind the development and making of both of them is fascinating. Because her gin making is such a hands-on, intimate experience she is also an expert on how to serve it to best enjoy it. - Zara HAuckland Central, New Zealand6 contributionsHapuku Kitchen is such a wonderful unique and delicious experience that my partner and I are always looking for any excuse to make a detour there for a meal or culinary adventure. We’ve been for the supper club multiple times and every meal is different and delicious. The way that Fiona layers flavours is spectacular and something that I’ve only experienced in a handful of the finest restaurants and paid exponentially more than the scandalously excellent value offered here. Chris is an absolutely delightful and gracious host/maitre-de/sommelier and will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
We’ve also been on a kitchen experience complete with fishing trip and foraging on the shoreline, a tour of the garden and introductions to the animals, then learning to prep and cook a delicious lunch.
This is some of the best food in the country, made and served by some the loveliest people in the country, in a delightful dining room which manages to be both expansive but homely and cosy at the same time. Whether you are in to your craft beers (not me) or just looking for something different (me) it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience and caters for any level of 'beer-knowledge'. I had so many laughs and left with a wee bit of a glow !! A great range of beers which I'm sure even non-beer drinkers will find one they enjoy.
