This is a wonderful walk in Kaikoura. The full loop is about 12 km but you can do a shorter version of desired. On the way there are many look out points for you to enjoy the beautiful picturesque landscape and ocean. There are also a lot of seals along the coastal section. You can also hear them bark. You can either walk along the top of the cliff or along the shoreline. I highly recommend doing both if you have time. All in all this is one of the best and most accessible day walks in NZ.

Distressing to see dead seal pups, they looked starved. People getting within 2 m of the seals to get a photo. The seals here are not safe from people.

We'd been before on out last trip but it's definitely worth doing again. The displays are great. Our only gripe was the fact that the earthquake display was now part of the general museum - that's only because it was fascinating seeing it all in one place before. However, there's a lot to see and a huge amount of history and local stories. Very well laid out and something for everybody. We'd go again if back in the area once more

Pete did a fantastic job explaining and showing us all there is to know about sheep and shearing. Highly recommended for families. The view from the shearing shed was incredible!

Fyffe House is the oldest colonial building in the South Island. We were introduced to the museum by an enthusiastic young woman who gave us a personal guided tour of this interesting pink weather board house which was built on the bones of whales (literally) between 1844 and 1860 and has been the home of a whaler, a harbour master, a fisherman and their families. Worth a visit.

What an absolute gem of a find! A truly boutique distillery tucked away in the countryside but well worth the short drive. Justine is an awesome host! She knows everything about her gins and the story behind the development and making of both of them is fascinating. Because her gin making is such a hands-on, intimate experience she is also an expert on how to serve it to best enjoy it. Her own story is just as interesting and as a host she is just the best!

Great for solo travellers! Had. Wonderful 2 days hiking through farmland, native bush and the coast. Had 4 seasons in a day! I am moderately fit and found in challenging. Take sturdy boots! Very welcoming hosts. Accomodation has everything you need. Great value.

It's really curious to read all the the previous reviews because we had a very positive experience with the person who served us at the Farm shop. Admittedly, she wasn't there when we arrived and even calling out didn't work. We were about to leave some cash money for the beautiful alpaca merino scarf we wanted to buy when she appeared. She was friendly and engaging and we successfully made our purchase amongst all the lavender products.

I stayed briefly with the owners, wasn't my favorite. But if you want a couple of quick hours of fun riding and maybe some downhill kicks, then stop in and check this place out. My advice...remember where the brake is at...lol. Kia Ora
