Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- chuckrdickeyWhakatāne, New Zealand16 contributionsTo say this place is Wheelchair friendly is absolutely nuts
There is no way that a person over about 15 Kgs could be man handled along the track, thick gravel and many hills.
Pretty long way too.Written 26 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - chuckrdickeyWhakatāne, New Zealand16 contributionsA beautiful place so rugged and majestic.

So quiet and lovelyWritten 26 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was so focused on putting 1 foot in front of the other and holding on that I didn't appreciate the beauty of the setting. My husband stopped at each info point to read the fact sheet, but I just had to keep going. Once I got to the last section, I managed to relax and even walk back a bit to try and challenge myself more.
I didn't go up the tower nor out onto the cantilever part, but my husband did. He loved it all.
I had wrongly assumed that I would be amongst the trees, but most of it was quite open, and I just looked straight ahead or up. It's great that I could walk holding onto the sides, and the structure does feel very safe.
The café, toilets, and shop are great and I just wish I wasn't so pathetic because obviously heaps of effort has been put into making this a top quality attraction.Written 21 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
