Nice stop for lunch on a trip north. Easy to find and good sized carpark. The loos are not the cleanest. Really nice track to the falls and lots of places to get photos and have a picnic. I think they would be incredible after a lot of rain. Path through bush is really well done.

Great foresight from one man and an awesome community to make these magnificent gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our well ome from Alan, wander through the gardens and greetings from the volunteer gardens and appreciate the amazing space, plants and environment.

Easy to stroll and enjoy for a well deserved donation contribution. We probably spent a little over an hour but could have explored more, but went to enjoy morning tea at Quails cafe on site. (Good food and coffee.)

Definitely recommend a chilled visit here

We spent about three hours at Kiwi North. We were greeted at the door by the personable staff and enjoyed hearing about the facilities. The kiwi enclosure was the best of the three I have been to around the North Island. Patience pays off and we were lucky to get up close view of the kiwi with the enclosure all to ourselves. The museum was very interesting and the bonus gallery of WW2 local history was fascinating. We enjoyed wandering around looking at the old buildings in the adjacent village. If visiting I would advise checking out when they are having open days in the village (third Sundays of the month?) as that would provide an even greater experience. This is a good family outing, made even better by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.

We had a wonderful few days as a group of 10 mum, escaping from our families.
The house was spotless and very well appointed. We were all very comfortable - one tip: make sure you keep the mosquito nets over the doors and windows, or spray your room before sleeping, preferably both.
The food was fabulous. Claire is a lovely host and a great cook. We were very well fed with a lovely variety of healthy, delicious meals. Those with differing food needs were kindly catered to with alternatives.
The walks were a good mixture of beach, farm and bush. There was enough challenge to keep the fitter ladies happy, but those of us who weren't as fit were still able to do everything. The views were nothing short of spectacular. And we had a couple of wonderful beach swims.
I would highly recommend this to any group wanting to unplug from everyday life for a few days, enjoy each other's company and get to know a beautiful part of NZ a little better.
    Thanks Claire.

So much to see and do here. The shops are lovely to browse through and there are some great cafes. The Council have done a superb job of re creating this area.

The best value for money adventure tourism in NZ. $40 for an adult for 3hrs fun - totally worth it. Small operation, only 3 staff, but really well designed and run. They didn't overfill the forest so you never had to wait long for anything. Really excellent safety system, easy and reliable. Done similar things in e.g. Rotorua and felt ripped off.

Whether you have one day or weeks in Whangarei, this is the single best day tour available. It is like nothing else we have done in New Zealand, and we’ve been here for months. It is not a performance, it is a personal invitation into the Harding family’s home where you experience an intimate view of the culture, history and cuisine of the Northland Maori people. They are the loveliest people, and we discussed politics, history, culture and exchanged funny stories. When they say you leave as family they are not exaggerating. We did the whole day tour and it was worth every minute and every penny. Our son loved listening to the stories just as much as we did, but he also played happily with their children. We will never forget it and can’t recommend it enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day here. Our party consisted of Two seniors, parents and young school aged kids.Everyone wears a life jacket which took a lot of stress of us.My husband and I did not go on any of the inflatables but we kayaked and just relaxed in the water. It was very hot and we would have loved an iceblock but there were cold drinks.$30.00 each was Ok I guess but a little pricey considering we were not going on the inflatables but we could understand why .Beware there is a long walk from the carpark especially going back up hill but as we had a child that wasnt well they allowed us to bring our car down.Staff and safety was very good.
