Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mervyn and Rangimarie were an engaging and informative couple as we dove into the Maori experience. Their Maori welcoming ceremony was very personal and certainly made us feel welcomed. They discussed the Maori culture in depth as we visited waterfalls and hiked into the forest explaining how the Maoris honored and respected the Kauri tree in particular. They guided us in using the flax to create a flower which we were instructed we should give away as a sign of friendship.
They also treated us to a fabulous fish lunch with a chance to simply have a wide ranging conversation. This led to a chance to learn a song that taught us Maori words similar to what the school kids learn at a young age.
What tremendous experience and two of the best guides we have ever had.

We had a fantastic day Tour with Karthic from our early morning start (6.30am) until our drop off in the evening. He was extremely organized and explained each stage of on advance. WE learned very much more about the area than we would have learned from other guides. He has a wealth of knowledge about New Zealand. In fact as we were going on a cruise leaving from Auckland he asked about the ports we were going to visit and proceeded to give us places we should consider visiting.
We travel frequently and Karthic is the engaging, thoughtful and knowledgeable guide we have had over the years. We completely endorse him and highly recommend him to design your itineary. You will be so glad you did.

Karthik our guide with ExperienceKart was amazing. From start to finish we had the very best day. Karthik met us as discussed and off we went on our adventure to the Bay of Islands. However, this wasn't just a Bay of Islands trip, Karthik went out of his way to ensure we saw so much more. We stopped at Whangarei Town to see the very oddly shaped Hundertwasser toilets! Yep not a straight line in sight! If that wasn't enough there's a train the runs along the centre of the main road through town! Luckily for us it showed up whilst we were there. Then onwards to the Whangarei Falls... absolutely amazing. Not if this was scheduled but we had time and Karthik made it his mission to show us as much as he could. It was thoroughly first class. Onward to our vessel the Dolphin Seeker which took us out into the blue Pacific Ocean up close to the Hole in the Rock, rock. The water was quite choppy but so worth the effort if the marvellous captain to get us there. We stopped off for a meal on one of the islands and then back to dock. Karthik was there to pick us up for the drive back to Auckland. A totally amazing day. Thank you to Karthik and all at ExperienceKart for an unforgettable trip. Absolutely first class!
