    This tour was just fabulous.
Overall, it was a good group of people. We all had the same sense of doing it for the group, and all did what was expected. No-one was ever late, for example.
Our tour guide, Andre, was a super young man. Gentle and humble, very organised, attentive, knowledgeable, a good driver, humorous... I think we all loved him!
We were sooooo lucky with the weather. It was mostly glorious. It would have been a good trip anyway I'm sure, but Central Otago and the Coast in autumn, with the sun shining ... hard to top that anywhere.
The length of the trip was good. 9 days - you felt as if it was a real holiday. Just right, really.
Asked about our favourite things, I find it hard to answer. I always like the thing we are doing at that particular time. I did love the little plane trip, and Okarito was almost spiritual. And seeing Aoraki Mt Cook from both sides of the alps - utterly magnificent. Oh, and the history of Denniston... Really, I enjoyed every experience. Oh, and being picked up and dropped off literally at my front door, was wonderful. It's often those little things that make a difference. And the van driver at the Auckland end was excellent too.
All up, it was a great tour, with a great guide.

We came to Whangarei just to have this experience and we were not disappointed. Mervyn and Rangimarie welcomed us into their home to share their food and their deep connections to their Maori Culture. From Mervyn’s traditional welcome to their family farewell this was an unforgettable day. I don’t want to give away too many “spoilers”. I recommend this tour so you can experience this gem for yourself. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for Tu Tika Tours.

During lockdown my mind was going back & forward trying to decide if I should book a Backyard Roadies Tour. I was sick of looking at my same four walls for months but scared to go on a tour not knowing anyone.

‘New Year New Me’ I set myself a goal to make this my year for travelling and booked the first Far North Tour for 2022 just one week prior. I was soo nervous to go alone and by the end of the first day it had already turned out to be the best thing that happened to me thus far, I was glad I chose to go solo. From strangers to friends to family in just one day!

I have already booked my next tour to Abel Tasman and have at least another one, if not two tours lined up for this year. If your like me and keep standing in your own damn way all the time, it’s time for you to step aside and see how amazing this experience really is…I promise you won’t regret it!

The tour was just amazing. The sun was out, skies were blue and we were surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean. With the “Motus” as landscape everything looked picture-perfect!
Our Cheeky driver/tour guide, Lance, was very kind, polite and entertaining. We enjoyed his many stories about the history of the land, it’s people and their customs.
    Yes...I’d do it again!

    Kia Ora,

My time on the Kiwi Experience has been unbelievably amazing, with today being our penultimate day as we make our way back up to Auckland, we begin to reflect back on our time with the company and it’s drivers.

One driver stands out amongst them all, we originally met Jason during the last part of his training in the South Island to later be met by him on his first run as a driver in Taupo. On both occasions he exceeded our expectations in what we expected from someone in his position.

Furthermore, considering it was his first week as a solo driver, Jason composed himself as a member of the Kiwi Experience that had been with the business for 10 years or more, with his knowledge of the locations we arrived at and passed along the way also. Moreover, his people skills with not only all 3 of us, but other members of the tour, were unparalleled to any other driver during our month with the tour. Consistent checking in with individuals and us, along with making sure activities and accommodation were taken care of in a timely and effective manor also. Jason’s character and humor shine through not only during his working hours but when spending time with the group outside of the bus, which is very refreshing.

Jason has really made our time with the Kiwi Experience one to remember, and we are certain he will continue to influence other Kiwi Experience passengers in a positive and fun manor and is a permanent asset to the business and its passengers.

We all wish him the best in his career with the business which we are sure will be long and prosperous.

I’ve never so in love with a country right away then I have with New Zealand and this is in big part thanks to Kiwi Ex. The stops they take you too are all spectacular and you meet the nicest most fun people from all around the world to travel with. My only negative of the trip is Happy Travels at the Nomads hostel in Auckland. They are professional scam artists who prey on first time travellers using fear tactics to book activities and get their commission. Only book your excurcions on the bus with the Kiwi driver. I had several drivers who were all amazing especially Dan and Dylan! My must do add on of the trip was to spend a night in mount cook as it was insanely beautiful there and my favourite activity was the tamaki Maori village overnight stay where I truly felt super close and bonded with my new friends from the bus. This trip is great for anyone from 18-30, especially solo travellers and nature lovers. I’ll never forget my time with Kiwi ex and the friends I’ve made. Best. Trip. Ever.

What a great trip excellent bus driver commentary and helpful advice. Super comfortable and wonderful way to see the country from the top deck of the bus. Fab stops for meals and apart from needing a coat for the aircon it was an A1 experience
