  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One reason we traveled to NZ was to learn more of the history and culture of the indigenous people. Tu Tika delivered beyond our expectations. Mervin and his wife have knowledge that only Māori descendants could have been able to discuss with deep personal knowledge.
We were met at the meeting point with a traditional Māori greeting and ukulele rendition. We immediately felt welcome and knew this would be an exciting tour.
Visiting the Whangārei Falls, not only was it a beautiful sight, we were told about the deep Māori connections with nature. The conversation continued as we took a walk later into the forest where we learned much more about their ancestral connections, their culture as well as current day Māori life. While traveling in their very comfortable van, we learned some Māori words and even participated in a Māori children’s song while Mervin played the ukulele adding fun to our very enjoyable experience.
They were a wealth of knowledge, fun to be around and gave us the in depth look into their traditions and culture we had hoped for.
After a perfect day, we were treated to a delicious New Zealand fish and chips lunch next to the famous Te Matau A Pohe bridge. We were treated to the opening of the lift bridge while eating lunch!! By the time we were done, we felt like family
This is a must do tour with our highest recommendation!!

We booked this tour thru trip advisor to ba of islands and were not disappointed. Geoff picked us up on time in a brand new Mercedes that wa spotless. The 3 hour drive to bay of islands was full of Jeff’s travelogue and insight into the area and culture. The trip around the bay was well organized and well executed, highlighted by our trip through the HOLE in The ROCK!

We had a fantastic day Tour with Karthic from our early morning start (6.30am) until our drop off in the evening. He was extremely organized and explained each stage of on advance. WE learned very much more about the area than we would have learned from other guides. He has a wealth of knowledge about New Zealand. In fact as we were going on a cruise leaving from Auckland he asked about the ports we were going to visit and proceeded to give us places we should consider visiting.
We travel frequently and Karthic is the engaging, thoughtful and knowledgeable guide we have had over the years. We completely endorse him and highly recommend him to design your itineary. You will be so glad you did.

Spectacular and intriguing building based on the principles of Hundertwasser (for example no straight lines!). Great pictures of his from different times, with excellent explanations and very helpful and friendly staff. Interesting contemporary Maori art. Fabulous food at Aqua cafe in the building.
