Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came up to Whangārei to see the current exhibition. Wasn't disappointed. Will be coming back in December to see the next one.

This has a very good amount of ceramics, paintings and jewellery pieces. A few smaller items are more reasonably priced. Some works are very expensive. Well worth visiting.

I was delighted to visit this great farmer's market a couple of times in December '18 & January '19 when staying with my daughter in Whangarei.
It's bustling, busy and has a fantastic array of wares on offer - locally produced honey and Manuka honey, garden plants, baked goods, homemade pickles and chutneys, locally grown fruit and veg, locally reared meat and sausages, local cheeses, flowers and even buckets of fresh kina.
Most of the stall holders are very friendly and happy to talk about their produce, being very informative.
I absolutely love this market and always spend much more than I intend to.
It's a "must do" whenever I visit Whangarei.

What a great setting for an artists commune - nestled below the bush-covered walls of an old quarry. The place is very laid back and though not all the places will necessarily be open when you visit, you are sure to find things of interest and someone friendly to chat with.

My husband, daughter and son-in-law ate out at Whangarei's Canopy Night Market, by the attractive Town Basin, one Friday night in January.
Apparently the market we went to was small compared to how it normally is but maybe that was because it was shortly after Christmas and New Year?
There were a good selection of stalls nonetheless and most stallholders are very friendly and chatty,.
We feasted on Hungarian fried bread, quesadillas, spanakopita, chicken dim sum, pork dumplings and Chinese chicken skewers.
We are great fans on NZ's Gourmet Food Night Markets. They have a great atmosphere and it's good value for money, where you can try a bit of this and a bit of that

Greg Barron and Jin Ling make, exhibit and sell their beautiful award winning ceramics from their workshop/Gallery in Glenbervie. The entire ceramic process is done on site, from making the clay to firing the finished forms in their wood fire kiln.

Just take a relaxing walk along the Hatea Loop to the Heritage Reyburn House where the Art Gallery and Art Studio is surrounded by a Heritage Rose and Cottage Gardens.

Have a look at the local talented artists artwork.

Beautiful space and even more beautiful art. Excellent prices and wide range of selection, I liked the fact that every time I go into the gallery the there's always new art work to look at.

Disclaimer: I have shown my photos and paintings in this gallery, but the exhibition I viewed had work by many women artists in celebration of universal sufferage and the range was really interesting and widely creative.

This is a wonderful gallery to visit, and always has new and exciting work on display.
I have recently participated in a Group Exhibition - 'Laboratorium' and attended the current exhibition opening featuring epic work by Chris Wilkie - 'ENDEAVOUR- Finding and Losing'

Such beautiful paper, each piece is a work of art in itself! I ordered online and it came beautifully packaged as well. I look forward to using this paper - if I can bring myself to!!

Although a bit pricey, the ice creams are delicious and 2 out of our 3 kids could not finish theirs!

Wow, loved this place. Lots of variety in artists and good quality art produced and available for sale. Keith Grinter has a working glass studio right alongside. The staff member working the day we visited was very friendly and very helpful.
