Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Jane T13 contributionsThis has a very good amount of ceramics, paintings and jewellery pieces. A few smaller items are more reasonably priced. Some works are very expensive. Well worth visiting.Written 5 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Devontraveller128 contributionsI was delighted to visit this great farmer's market a couple of times in December '18 & January '19 when staying with my daughter in Whangarei.
It's bustling, busy and has a fantastic array of wares on offer - locally produced honey and Manuka honey, garden plants, baked goods, homemade pickles and chutneys, locally grown fruit and veg, locally reared meat and sausages, local cheeses, flowers and even buckets of fresh kina.
Most of the stall holders are very friendly and happy to talk about their produce, being very informative.
I absolutely love this market and always spend much more than I intend to.
It's a "must do" whenever I visit Whangarei.Written 10 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place is very laid back and though not all the places will necessarily be open when you visit, you are sure to find things of interest and someone friendly to chat with.Written 19 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Devontraveller128 contributionsMy husband, daughter and son-in-law ate out at Whangarei's Canopy Night Market, by the attractive Town Basin, one Friday night in January.
Apparently the market we went to was small compared to how it normally is but maybe that was because it was shortly after Christmas and New Year?
There were a good selection of stalls nonetheless and most stallholders are very friendly and chatty,.
We feasted on Hungarian fried bread, quesadillas, spanakopita, chicken dim sum, pork dumplings and Chinese chicken skewers.
We are great fans on NZ's Gourmet Food Night Markets. They have a great atmosphere and it's good value for money, where you can try a bit of this and a bit of thatWritten 9 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
