Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jayden BToowoomba, Australia46 contributionsI saw seals and penguins and water and mountains but NO DOLPHINS therefore worst trip ever. 0/10
Nah actually so good, would recommend. Also the trip there was perhaps the prettiest drive I've ever been on. I like the little squeel the Kea make. 100/10 for the birds.Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The illuminated cave ceiling, glowing with tiny blue lights, felt like stepping into another world. It was serene and magical, with the soft glow of the worms reflecting off the water. - Tristan BAdelaide, Australia177 contributionsA nice, peaceful place to relax. We were staying on the lakefront, and was great to sit by the shore and watch the sunset. Very beautiful location.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- P2SQLD53 contributionsSuch a lovely park. A beautiful lake, gorgeous trees, wide open spaces, disc golf and a perfect spot for a picnic. Loved itWritten 11 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 422ianaDunedin, New Zealand3,610 contributionsThe path is short to get to the lake itself. Just over 5 min to get there. The path continues on and comes back out by the road. This road can be busy, but not during this CoVID winter. We returned via the path, retracing our steps.Written 17 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Discover074908056513 contributionsA very long day from Queenstown, was beautiful they say Doubtful is the best out off Milford we actually prefer Milford to much chopping and changing transport modes and wait times.
Don't get me wrong it was stunning being 65+ it was to much.
Also we paid over 800 NZ dollars from Queenstown you would think they would have free tea and coffee on board the vessels charging 5 dollars just for 1 teabags I thought this was ridiculous.Written 6 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
