We had a wonderful day out, starting with the cruise across Lake Manapouri, and the skipper’s repertoire of facts about the lake and power station. Followed by the coach trip from West Arm to Deep Cove, highlighted by the scenery and Beatles’ trivia as applicable to the project in the 1960s! Followed by the cruise along Doubtful Sound, with commentary. The scenery is wild, untouched, and magnificent. Enhanced by a number of temporary waterfalls resulting from the heavy rains the day before.
We were able to approach the fur seal colony, and see a number of pups and adult seals. Regretfully no dolphins though.
All in all we can thoroughly recommend this tour, it’s brilliant.
