- David M2 contributionsWe took this tour from Queenstown and there is a 4 hour bus drive to Milford Sound. Howere the bus stops at multipe locations to stretch your legs, take photos, or use restrooms. Toilet and USB chargers are also available inside the bus. We really enjoyed the beautiful scienary along the way. Obviously tje highlight of this tour is the boat ride to the Milford Sound waterfall, and it was fantastic. The boat paases by multiple waterfalls before it gets to the main waterfall. There are many photo opportunities along the way on the upper deck of the boat. To see how the water has carved out the caves was very interesting with the waterfalls and rushing water. Then to see the glowworms up close was a once in a lifetime chance for us. - Janine S5 contributionsFabulous day! Very glad that we chose to do this tour rather than drive ourselves as it is a long way to Milford Sound on some narrow, windy roads. Our driver provided lots of information on the way and we made several stops for photos. The cruise was amazing with commentary from the ‘captain’ and we got up close to waterfalls and seals. Great balance of stops en route there. Milford Sound cruise stunning of course. Reasonable commentary on the boat. - Neil F18 contributionsI wasn’t sure this experience was worth it when there are so many activities to do in Queenstown, but my wife wanted to go. And I know what’s good for me. Booked with Ryan at ICentre in Queenstown. He did a great job recommending True South and helping us book the right day for the weather forecast. The flight with Andrew, of the Wallace variety, was awesome. We had great views the whole flight to Milford Sound and return. Andrew dished out plenty of knowledge bombs on the geography. 100% recommend this trip. The cruise with Pure Milford was also very much a must do. We’re glad we decided to do this. Very impressed by how rival operators gave us seats on their transport to take us to a planned stop in Te Anau while a replacement coach was sent. The views were breathtaking, with cascading waterfalls, towering cliffs, and playful seals along the way. The boat was spacious, well-maintained, and offered plenty of viewing options - indoor comfort or open-air decks for the full experience.
