Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- LauraMiami Beach, FL184 contributionsIt was a rainy day in Queenstown. This outdoor mall has lovely shops to check out. For the restaurants, most have lunch that ends at 2:30 p.m., and they do not reopen until 5 p.m.Written 12 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - world travelerAuckland Central, New Zealand7 contributionsAbsolutely amazing experience and very informative. Learnt so much about Queenstown and it’s amazing natural history. Watching the fish in the lake from under the water was a highlightWritten 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Josh LChristchurch, New Zealand78 contributionsYou couldn’t give any less than a 5 star review. Nick and his team are exceptional. Nick, a 5th generation bee keeper is so passionate about what he does it oozes off him and onto the group. The honey spinning is informative, well presented and a bit of fun at the same time. You even get to create your own jar of honey with a picture of yourself on the label which also allows you to take it overseas since it’s sealed with a proper label on it. We sampled some other honeys and alcohol and purchased a few as they all tasted great. Highly recommend. So far it’s topped our trip over the TSS and gondolas.Written 11 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hannah L40 contributionsVery relaxing way to spend an hour outside of queenstown, the views are lovely and it's a private relaxing hot tub with a snack and drink included. The shuttle from queenstown was included and prompt. This being said we thought it was expensive for what it is.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - travellingratNew Zealand44 contributionsDisclaimer - this was not our first visit to Wet Jacket Wines, but it is our first visit to their new location. Not gonna lie, we thought moving out of the Woolshed was an odd move, but we were proved wrong today. It's a lovely intimate setting that the team have created at the boat shed, and it works a treat.
So the wine, let's start here. When you call in for a tasting, don't expect to get guided through all the various notes on the nose, the mouthfeel or the length of flavours on the tongue. You are left to discover all that yourself. What you do get is an amazing story of why they exist, what underpins what the team do, their beliefs and the things that are important to the small crew that are Wet Jacket Wines. So call in for the story, you'll come back again and again for the wine (it's our second visit).
The service, we that's second to none. There is a very personal approach around their tasting room, and one I have not experienced before.
Call in, you will not regret it. And I just love their motto: "Work like a captain, play like a pirate."Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - worldatmyfeet128Auckland, New Zealand177 contributionsI stumbled upon this gallery while having a wander. The cute dogs in the window caught my eye, and while I like looking at art it has never been in my budget to purchase gallery work, however the "top rated tourist attraction" encouraged me inside. Not a big gallery but very aesthetically pleasing. Can be intimidating if it's not in your budget, however the lady working there was very friendly and engaging (not at all pretentious!) and had no problems me taking as many photos as I liked. Had never heard of Ivan Clarke but his 'Lonely Dog' works are so charming. I purchased a card to frame (very cute 'Catside Cocktails' with a little blurb on the back) for $5 (or you can get 6 for $25). Definitely worth a visit.Written 25 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JMustBath, UK18 contributionsPleasant staff. The experience is more for teenagers than adults. - Molly C1 contributionMy husband and I adored our time doing through the Tim Wilson gallery and were mesmerised by his beautiful work. We're not usually huge art gurus but you can't help but be awed by these paintings. Rachel was such a lovely host and brought deeper meaning and significance to every piece by sharing the backstories and helping us to recognise and appreciate each detail and technique. It was also very special to be in Tim's very home as we soaked in his beautiful work. We would highly recommend this to anyone, it is not to be missed!Written 17 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The vast array of talented NZ and International artists is fabulous. Virut is one of our favourites. Definitely a must see. Always manage to find time to pop in and see what is new and interesting. - Roam098314741251 contributionWe completed all three indoor escape rooms while in Queenstown. The rooms were well planned out and challenging. The back stories and themes were fun and interesting. The staff were brilliant and seemed genuinely interested and excited about our experience. We will be back again.Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
