Our experience was heightened by our guide Soap putting everything in the context of Maori culture, which is something we wanted to get out of our NZ trip. He really made it fun for our whanau on the bus. Loved the Maori music! The flight was stunning, seeing the glaciers and snowy mountains up close. Milford sound cruise was truly special too. - SamuelSydney, Australia1 contributionFrom the moment our trip was confirmed early in the morning on the 14th of August, we knew we were going to have a very beautiful experience; however, I am lost for words on how great it was and struggle to find the right ideas to express on this review. The group was small to make the experience personal, my son got the chance to see the hangar and the Cesna planes from very close and he loved every single bit of it. The views and the places we visited are beyond what can be captured on pictures, simply breathtaking. Our pilot Thomas was extremely experienced and knowledgable, he was describing everything we were seeing on both sides of the plane. Milford sound cruise was very sublime, we have not been to a place this beautiful anywhere else, and we do not believe there is such beauty outside Milford Sound. The trip was the highlight of our visit to Queenstonwn and will definitely repeat the experience again in near future. - Adam G3 contributionsLovely sunny day. Off to a great start with Keith our coach driver giving an awesome commentary on the way, with loads of great photo stops. (We chose this particular tour because the company uses coaches: some of the others look like they use shuttle vans.) The boat trip was great, what an awesome craft. Great food, great commentary. But the Sound itself wasn't at it's best: a rainy day is what you want for max waterfall activity (Or even better: heavy rain the night before!). HOWEVER, with it being a clear day, the return flight was AMAZING, with the pilot showing off not just Milford Sound, but most of the Southern Alps it seemed. And back to Queenstown in before time for afternoon happy hour cocktails. (And the bonus: I got to sit in the co-pilot's seat. I got a sore face from grinning so much.) Our Pilot Isabel and Michael were fantastic in not only piloting the plane but also in providing us with commentary as we flew about the many beautiful spots we could see as we flew. The flight was absolutely stunning with the best close up scenery around Mt Cook. The breathtaking views of New Zealand's landscapes, paired with the skilled pilot's commentary, made it a memorable adventure. My original flight had been postponed due to weather conditions and by the time we flew the weather could not have been more perfect. Communication from the staff was exceptional from booking to rescheduling and pick up. I was a little anxious with being in such a small plane but I had no worries and felt completely safe the whole trip. If you are in any doubt whatsoever - do it!! You will not regret it. This flight completed my holiday in Queenstown perfectly and I would do it again and will definitely look at doing another one too somewhere else.
