Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kinloch Wilderness Lodge was exact what I planned for months - an oasis of comfort that blends cozy & homey with sophisticated & modern at the farthest reaches of the Southern Island in the dead of their winter. Superlatively attentive staff who above all else know how to listen.
We are all our meals here for three days - the exquisitely pre-set three-course dinner, the hearty & varied breakfasts & the pre-packed sandwich lunches we took with us on hikes. Their cook even prepared the enormous trout that I’d caught on a fly line earlier the same afternoon!
My family hired the two ecoscape rooms and I slept like a log in the comfy bed & enjoyed delish bedside coffee every morning.
It took us 36 hours to get from San Diego to Kinloch and it was worth every bit. I’m already scheming on how & when to get back here.

We absolutely loved this! Just a 20min drive away from Queenstown, we were met on arrival with stunning reflections of the surroundings on Moke Lake. We felt like we left the bustle and all our worries behind to enter an oasis. The walk around the lake has some incline in some spots but is flat by most standards. 6km for a full round and DOC pegs it as a 2.5hr walk,

Beautiful to a walk along - either for a brief wander or a much longer hike. Surprise views around many river bends.

Another beautiful lake. But less touristy than Lak Whakatipu.
There is a beautiful foot path around the lake. For walking, cycling or running.
The Frankton Arm Tavern is nice place for food & drinks
