Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- mike sBradenton, FL122 contributionsI did this tour in the second week of January this year With Queenstown Heritage tours. It was a memorable tour! My guide Wolfie was an excellent guide and an amazing driver. As required, we went in a four wheel drive on a mostly gravel and narrow road. The views of the valley and the river were spectacular. There was high tea at the end of the drive which was really good. Strongly recommend this trip if you would like to do something off the beaten track in Queenstown. Beware this trip is not meant for people who are afraid of heights!

I came down the track from Thompson Street and ended up here as I was walking down towards the lake.
The building was interesting to see and there are signs around about the history of the building. The building was closed off so I was able to just look in from the outside. It was an interesting stop and there were a few seats around. It was nice to walk along the creek.Written 12 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand23,296 contributionsI was walking along the Marine Parade by the beach and noticed the shop. At first, I wasn't sure what it was since the building was quite old. I did think it could have been a gallery but there was a sign on the side of the building that it was a shop.
The first room on the right has some information about the cottage as well as some relics of the past. The rooms are quite small so it was interesting walking around. You get more of the shop items as you head deeper into the shop. The contents were quite interesting with plenty of New Zealand specific items including many prints and souvenirs. I thought it was a nice little shop with an interesting history and items for sale.Written 26 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
