Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our driver was Dylan, and a more skilled, informative and companiable guide you couldn't imagine. Just like a day out with family really! Our day at Milford Sound was the best day of our two-week South Island trip, and it would not have been possible, given the length of the drive from Queenstown, without Dylan to make it comfortable and enjoyable. It was well-organised and seamless, and certainly did not seem like a 10-hour round trip.
Thoroughly recommended as the way to see Milford Sound! Booking the trip on-line was easy and quick, and everything was provided to make the day very memorable -- including the pesky kea parrots trying to get into the car!

It exceeded expectations by miles, we were so impressed, even my dad and brother who weren’t so interested before we left were completely absorbed in the experience before we left. It was the highlight of our Queenstown trip. Simon really made it interesting blending culture and science. Can’t wait to do other experiences like this is the future.

The winery tour with Susana was absolutely fantastic!! She was amazing… extremely knowledgeable and informative… as well as conscientious and considerate. She took the time to tailor the day to fit each of our backgrounds and wants… and provided a great history and pertinent explanation to heighten our experience of the vineyards and wine-making in this region. We felt completely relaxed in spite of visiting 4 unique and extraordinary wineries. And she took amazing photographs which captured the day beautifully… to provide photo souvenirs which will remind us of this wonderful day for years to come. In all… Susana provided us with a memorable tour which I would emphatically recommend to anyone looking for a cultural experience in Queenstown… no matter how much you love wine… and no matter whether you are inexperienced in wine-tastings… or completely seasoned and well-versed in the art of wine appreciation!!

It was a pleasure to be able to meet Aiste and spend a full day taking pictures around Otago with her. I knew I would only have a limited amount of time in the area and she was flexible in working with me in setting a start time and figuring out where I wanted to go and my photo priorities. She was even willing to start super early in the morning to do astrophotography but I had already captured some Milky Way shots earlier in the trip. She picked me up from my hotel and we headed to Moke Lake before sunrise which had beautiful mist over the water and glassy reflections (see the attached picture which she took using my iPhone while I was messing with the ND filters on my camera). We then headed up to Glenorchy after breakfast, before ending the day in Skippers Canyon, where rental cars are banned given the steep dropoffs and narrow roadway (I am glad I wasn’t driving). It was well worth being with someone who really knew the area and timing of the best photos; often we were leaving places just as others were showing up. As a solo traveler interested in seeing as much as possible in a limited time frame it was well worth it. I was able to spend as much or as little time taking pictures as I wanted to without feeling like I was rushing anyone else, and she had good suggestions regarding composition and technical aspects of landscape photography. Aiste is very personable and we had plenty to talk about during the drives between photo opportunities (and she would stop if we saw anything interesting too).

My wife and I were absolutely thrilled with this day tour. Martin, our tour guide, did an outstanding job. He took us to places that we would not have gone on our own. One such place was Skippers Canyon. We would never have driven that ourselves. The scenery was magnificent!
He also showed us photo tips on our smartphones that were very helpful; features we didn't know about.
The tour was money and time well spent. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you, Martin.

Small group tour was great. Martin was extremely flexible on the schedule as well as sites to see. Very knowledgeable and personable as well We didn’t rent a camera but Martin was very accommodating regarding taking photos at various spot on the tour. We had another couple who almost canceled but we’re very glad they did the tour. Highly recommended

My brother and I have just done the Queenstown and surrounds tour with Dani. A brilliant day out taking in some superb scenic lookouts, lots of history, super eating, drinking and shopping as well as wine tasting to round off the day. Dani was great company and hugely accommodating and informative. Would definitely recommend! And I’ve not used the word ‘lovely’ (until now😉)

Glen is a highly accomplished professional photographer and we learned so much from him during our half day adventure. We had many stops at pristine locations to take pictures and appreciate the beauty of the lake Wakatipu area. Glen was very patient and skillfully managed our group of photographers of varying skill levels from iPhone to enthusiast amateur to an advanced level individual, providing each with valuable tips. He knows the region extremely well and his unique insights enhanced our experience. We had exceptional weather that provided a wealth of opportunities for creative photography that Glen took full advantage of. We highly recommend Glen for a fantastic learning and fun experience in the broader Queenstown area.

What an amazing and unforgettable experience …I still can’t believe it! Our pilot (Steve) was impeccable both in his flying skills, knowledge, and customer service!! He was fun and interesting and took us to places I would have never thought possible. The variety of scenery and diversity of terrain, as well as, his skill and talent in landing in the many different environments was impressive. We also appreciated the young man in the office (sorry…forgot his name) that greeted us and went over procedures and the areas that we would cover. He was friendly and very professional. An all around memorable and exciting day! Very highly recommend …a definite bucket list trip!!

Doing a photo tour with Glen was the highlight of my trip to NZ. Glen is such a fantastic teacher—he has the rare combination of talent, patience, a terrific sense of humor, and a knack for explaining complex techniques clearly. I learned so many practical skills and came away feeling more inspired about photography than I've felt in a long time. Could not recommend more.

We went to two different locations. First we went to the Remarkables and did some very good shots of the area from high up and some artsy shots of a winding street. After that we took Skippers Road and wow, what a great landscape. It was even better than the first location.

Martin was great and took the time to show me how to take the best pictures. I can highly this tour. Time was over way too soon.

I loved this tour, we had a brilliant guide (Martin), with so much knowledge of the area and wines. I would definitely recommend this small group tour - 100% - much better than a big impersonal bus!

Do yourself a favour and indulge in an Alpine Luxury Tour. You will be satisfied.

Rob, our guide, was so knowledgeable with a great sense of humour.
He was very personable and accommodating from the moment he picked us up from our accommodation in a comfortable Mercedes Van. A true local taking us to spots we would not have otherwise seen. We enjoyed the breathtaking landscape on The Queenstown & Central Otago Wine Tour. The wine in this region is delicious.

When organising from Australia, Lee responded promptly to all my email enquiries.

Thank you, Lee, Rob and Alpine Tours, for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. A really great experience.
