Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a such a great trip to Milford Sound. It is a long drive but we hade en excellent driver and guide. Colin made it seem shorter with his stories and his knowledge and we got a good lesson in New Zealand’s history and nature on the way down. The views are spectacular and we stopped at different sights along the way. The boatcruise in the fjord is breathtaking and me and my husband enjoyed being on one of the smaller boats since it was not so crowded and we got plenty of opportunities to take photos. Don’t miss out on taking a trip to Milford! And thank you again, Colin for your safe driving and good stories! Anna and Ulf

Our bus driver was brilliant great knowledge and humour explained so many things. We felt safe through the whole trip. The boat ride through the Milford Sounds was superb. The whole trip from start to finish was superb with heaps of laughs, food on the boat and photos. Recommend to the MAX

Brandon was our tour guide and was nothing short of being absolutely amazing. We decided not to drive to MS at the last minute and booked this tour the night before. Literally the best decision ever, Brandon was so easy going and informative. There is so much history that he shared that made the drive enjoyable. Honestly, this did not feel like a long day because of Brandon. His driving was stellar along the hills and windy roads. In fact his driving was so relaxing I was able to grab a few naps here and there. The stops he suggested and just the entire day overall was wonderful. Nothing felt rushed, we made stops for potty, food and gifts going and coming. The timing allowed for stops along the way to take pics felt sufficient. There are no words to really express the sites you will see and experience… spectacular, amazing, stunning all feel like they don’t accurately describe the true wonderfulness of this place. Do the tour, sit back and relax and prepare to be awed!

The tour was so much fun. Our guide was so funny and so knowledgeable. She was actually an extra in LOTR and told us all kinds of fun stories about Peter Jackson and the cast. I loved the intimate size of the tour- only 11 of us- it really made the experience more enjoyable. My friend and I dressed up and battled in Lothlorien- once in a lifetime experience!

The professionalism and enthusiasm of our driver-guide Tommy is very much appreciated. The greeting at pickup spot was warm to begin with, the tempo of stops for coffee and photo session was well-planned, the introduction of all sorts of funny things along the way and good selection of music made the 5 hour one way drive just flew by.

What’s more valuable is that he doesn’t narrowly define his obligations and service - he walked the extra mile(s) sharing his number and responding promptly and comprehensively when I had question during the Hooker Valley hike, shared his story coming to NZD, and even tips on Fergburger! He always volunteered to help guests take photos at scenic spots, which I believe he didn’t have to. And the pics turned out to be great.

Last but not the least, had he not carefully and thoroughly checked the vehicle, my day would have turned from paradise to hell as I left my US$3000+ worth of laptop at the back pocket of a seat at the very back! He messaged me even before I realized the laptop was missing, and contacted office to leave me message. All of these done out of his office hour. I highly appreciate this as I fly out of queenstown the next day.

    Thank you a lot!

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative about the four wineries. St. Rosa was our favorite winery. All the wines were good and the tasting room was lovely. Great host there as well. Carrick provided a delicious charcuterie board, and the wines were good. Lovely setting by the lake. We would definitely recommend this tour.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our wine sampler tour. The day was well-organised with tastings at four very different vineyards. At each one were sampled a variety of wines and were given an expert commentary.

Our tour leader was considerate of the needs of all the guests, ensuring that the needs of us oldies was being met.

We met some other travellers and had great fun in s sing along on the way home.

Milford Sound is a geological marvel that is somehow upstaged by the effortlessly friendly and professional tour guide, Chelsea. During our brisk smooth ride , Chelsea managed to strike an utterly brilliant balance between unpretentious discoursing on the environs and letting the views speak for themselves. She is a knowledgeable guide with a gift for gab not unlike a top tier talk show host. If you do Milford Sound, ask for Chelsea.

Our flight was cancelled due to poor weather but we were immediately refunded and had the choice to skip the tour or modify it to hike around the base of mount cook. We chose to do the hike.

Overall a great trip! Our Tour guide, Tammy, did a fantastic job of telling us about the local area and keeping us comfortable and entertained as we drove to/from our destination.

This trip was amazing and easily my favourite part of my trip to Queenstown. The views were amazing the entire time and you don’t even have to complete the hike to see mt cook. Jeff our tour guide definitely made the trip memorable, he took his time to get to know everyone throughout the day and it was honestly sad to have to leave our tight knit group at the end of the day. As someone in their early 20s this was a super easy way to meet new friends and try new local foods such as fresh salmon and real fruit ice cream. Hike is quite easy and definitely worth it for the views

Ten couples who had never met set off in a minibus driven by Angus. Rather than a silent short trip to the vineyards Angus entertained us with tales and stories about wine, New Zealand, and himself. Clearly a person who knows his wines and the area, so it made for a great journey.
At each vineyard we had tastings led by the staff and tried some truly excellent wines. At Kinross lunch was served, the sharing platter being the most popular, with a wine chosen to match the dish.

An unhurried afternoon with great wines and a tour group that got more and more chatty as the wines were tasted!

    Highly recommended?
