Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awesome experience flying over the southern alps with Andrew our pilot who made us feel welcome, safe, informed and amused! His local knowledge of mountains, lakes, geoligy and history was fascinating. The Pure Milford cruise through the fjords was astounding, and we jagged some beautiful weather conditions. Trip home was quick and direct, very thankful to be on the Cessna rather than a coach ... highly recommend True South and Milford Sound!

Amy made this tour amazing! She had so many great stories & spoke clearly to soak it all in. She made the tour exciting & upbeat with her tone. She was always willing to take our picture & help us recreate anything.
The lamington/cookies were delicious. The costumes were fun, even if you aren't into cosplay/dressing up. Overall just a fun 1/2 day tour to see the beautiful of Glenochy, even if you don't love LOTRs. We love the LOTRs movies & enjoyed all of the little things incorporated into this tour.

This relic of a bygone era is amazing.
Kept in its original state, it was amazing to explore the entire vessel and watch as the 1912 era engine room came to life.

The hardest workers on the ship were in the boiler room. Shovelling like, real coal, into like, a real fire, to heat the boiler which power the engines.

The various rooms and decks are there to explore during the journey. We actually talked to people and they actually talked back.

The food and entertainment at Walter Peak Station was well organised, very tasty and in abundance.

    Overall a great day out!

Had a great time. Dan was our Captain. He was very knowledgeable. Learned a lot about the Lake and the surrounding area. The 90-minute cruise was also very relaxing.

I had the pleasure of flying with Glenorchy Air on the Fly Cruise Fly package, and wow — unquestionably one of the highlights of my holiday in New Zealand. The pilot, Jim, was professional and communicated/pointed out highlights along the way without being over-talkative in the slightest. Everything was seamless, efficient, and user-friendly, from the online reservations process, to the weather check call, to the checkin at the counter on the day of the flight. I had a phenomenal experience and highly recommend booking with Glenorchy Air for a phenomenal flying experience. Shoutout to Jim, Ivan, and the rest of the team!

Whole experience was fabulous, Martin our guide was so informative and the views were incredible. We were so lucky with the weather too. Mini bus to Milford Sound, boat trip then scenic flight back to Queenstown. The whole operation was so slick and well timed and the pilot met us at the boat and took us to her plane! And a mini bus met us at the plane and took us back to town. Amazing day!

The Earnslaw is a genuinely historic ship, with the sights and smells of early 20th century steam. The family tour and demonstration was fairly limited in scale, but that’s fine - we didn’t want hours of presentation. “Cream tea” perhaps oversells what is on offer, it was fairly basic and not what you would except from that term in the UK, but it was fine.

We did a trip up the lake and back on this grand old steamship, which was beautifully fitted out in the style of the early 20th century. The scenery of Lake Wakatipu is awesome, and I liked that you could look down into the engine room to see the engines at work; we even got chance to chat to the Chief engineer - a man who clearly loves his job!

This package consisted of a coach trip through Fiordland National Park, and a 2-hour boat cruise on Milford Sound, total duration about 13 hours.

The coach was very comfortable, with recliner seats slightly angled towards the windows, and a glass roof allowing panoramic views even in steep sided valleys.

Our driver and guide Mykaylah was excellent, and her interesting and informative commentary was balanced with periods of silence so that we didn’t suffer from information overload. It must be very difficult to drive and talk at the same time, but she managed it extremely well.

Big thanks also to her colleague Peanut who, although not formally on duty, was happy to chat and give lots of other interesting details.

The boat cruise was also excellent. Our departure wasn’t busy, so there was plenty of room to move around and get good vantage points. The weather was perfect and the water calm, and the stunning scenery lived up to all our hopes and expectations.

Huge thanks to RealNZ and Mykaylah & Peanut for giving us a day out which will live long in our memories. Highly recommended!

Ian was one of the best tour guides I’ve had. His knowledge and passion on Tolkien, LoR and Middle Earth was delightful to be a part of. Am going to be rewatching the film series on my flight back home! Would recommend to anyone

We did a few jet boat experiences during our recent holiday and this was by far our favourite. We loved the commentary throughtout the experience and learning about the area. Our guide Pedro was fantastic. He was conscientious, knowledgeable and funny. Do yourself a favour and book this experience, you won't regret it.

Had a brilliant day looked after and lead by George our driver. Good banter and informative information needed throughout the day to get the most value and memorable experience (keeping wine filled adults must be hard at times lol).

Excellent day. Everything was orchestrated to the last detail. Orientation brief. Pilot commentary during the flight. Direct transfers from plane to bus to boat. No waiting in public lines. Cruise included tea, coffee and a hot muffin. We saw seal, dolphins and waterfalls. A very efficient way to see this spectacular feature in half a day.
