Cruise itself was flawless with a tasty lunch and saw penguins, seals and waterfalls. - Brent B4 contributionsDon’t miss this tour! It was an incredible day filled with stunning vistas, breathtaking boat ride and unparalleled views on the flight home. Don’t skimp…take the plane back! The scenery from the air is the only thing that can beat spectacular views from the ground. Our guide was incredibly friendly and informative. Absolutely fabulous bbq dinner - various seafoods and meats were delicious. Jacob is a most delightful waiter. Our tour guide T gave everyone lots of laughs along the way. - Vicki M6 contributionsThis was a wonderful bike ride for our family (two parents, two 20-something kids)--a great way to ride the Arrowtown and Gibbston Trail along the Arrow and Kawarau Rivers. Christina and her colleagues were wonderful at picking us up, getting us kitted out on e-bikes, and picking us up at the end of the day.
The ride was breathtaking! The ebikes were essential for covering the ~20 kilometres from Arrowtown to our last stop at Kinross. The gravel trail was more than I had anticipated (probably because of my fear of heights), and the many (many) vistas offset my acrophobia.
New Zealand vintners are serious about their craft! We sampled at Gibbston Valley, Gibbston Tavern, and Rockburn. Staff/owners at each locale were incredibly knowledgeable about their grapes, their wine, and the wonderful ways to describe the many reds, whites, roses, we tried. I regret not bringing a bigger backpack to bring home more bottles.

The staff were excellent and so thank you Do and Ash. :-). - Geoff MCraigellachie, UK241 contributionsOur guide and driver “Al” was very knowledgeable and entertaining for the whole trip as well as ensuing we were safely transported from vineyard to vineyard. A good range of wines were tasted from a varied selection of vineyards as far away as Te Kano in Bannockburn (lovely 2022 Chardonnay) Lunch in Cromwell at the Stoaker Room went down well with a selection of 5 meats with pared wines. Last stop had a wine pairing with cheese and crackers, possibly could have had slightly more cheese for size of group. We even had time for a short wander in Arrowtown on the way back. I managed to leave my glasses ( 2 sets in one case) on the boat. I called the next day to Awesome tours and they took all my details. We were already heading off towards Christchurch by then and I had no idea whether I would see my glasses again.But miraculously, our bus driver on the day, the wonderful Ivan, contacted me to say he had them and he would kindly send them on. He put them in express post immediately to reach our accommodation in Christchurch the next day!! He would not accept payment for this which was so generous…and I promise to pay it forward, Ivan somehow.
So cheers to all involved and of course we enjoyed the bus and boat trips which all went smoothly otherwise. The professionalism and friendliness of the drivers was amazing. We were able to get in half a dozen stops on the all day tour and would highly recommend Mt Rosa and Rifters Gin Distillery. Huge call out to George - great driver and 'tour guide!'
