We had enjoyable stops on our way to Milford sound: Te Anau and Fiordland National Park. We enjoyed the Milford Sound cruise (even though it was raining) and managed to see seals AND dolphins! James was super helpful with helping us look into flying back ( didn’t happen due to weather conditions). Andy from Altitude was simply the best tour guide come coach driver, so knowledgable and enthusiastic about NZ.
It was a very early start but, for someone who doesn’t like coach travel, the six hours on the small coach with plenty of coffee/photo/toilet stops just flew by!!
The cruise on the Milford Sound and out to the Tasman Sea was absolutely spectacular.

So informative, Nigel knew all the best places to stop and we had so many photos opportunities it was just amazing. I particularly loved the wing doors on the Tesla and all the glass, I felt like royalty!! Nigel even found my phone for me which I lost at Milford Sound...what a super fellow. - Kaylen M5 contributionsThere wasn't enough information provided about the activities and it was difficult to find the exact meeting place for the track walk, (it being in a large area without signage). They said "look for the guy with the clipboard." but we were lucky to find him.
The hike was great but...
Too much down time in between the cruise and the actual hike.
So after being dropped off we had to hustle hiking to reach the waterfall destination OTHER HIKERS mentioned to be the main attraction in order to catch the boat back.

The crew are absolutely wonderful and work so well together. They go above and beyond with everything they do and how welcome they make you feel. From the moment you board, everything is just hassle free. Beings a smaller ship, our cruise was a relatively intimate experience. Plenty of room for everyone though. The food was absolutely delicious and presented perfectly.
We were fortunate that we had rain overnight which meant the waterfalls were spectacular next morning.
